Phoenyxx you can go  to any line the  DHS Officer will direct you to the correct room to process you. I thought the same thing about the package. Best wishes

Angshus! Why pree!!

I'm finally here y'all. It didn't take me 10 minutes to go thru the process.. Someone pointed us to the correct queue, we were the only people in line. Asked where I was staying, if the address on the file was the address we wanted our info sent to, four fingers on the sensor, look in the camera, did the same for my bro and we were out. Stamped our passports and told us we'd get our cards in 2-4 weeks.

Again, I worried for nothing guys. :)

You will safee flight. Btw guys go to the social security office and apply when i went with the kids the agent told me that it will take 10 days after poe before they start processing and then a week to get it in mail. Since we were already in the country a few days it took little over a week to get in mail. Because i already had a ssnumber mine took a few days they just reprinted a card.

Hi there,

I'm Portuguese, my father lives in the US since 1990, he's married and I have an American brother. I will apply soon for the permanent visa, but I need to know how long is the processing time. This website has some sort of dates: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/law-and-policy/bulletin/2017/visa-bulletin-for-july-2017.html but I honestly don't get them, I think I'm a F2B. Can anyone give some info about the processing time please?

Thank you

Hi,

That is correct page to track the line for the visa. If your father is a permanent resident, then your category will be F2B, if he'll become a citizen, then you'll be moved to F1. When your petition will be filed and sent to USCIS, they will send you a letter noticing your Priority Date(the date when USCIS received your petition). Visa bulletin shows, that currently NVC is processing petitions filed till 01November 2010. So waiting time till your PD will get current will be ~7 years if you'll stay unmarried.

Hi Lain,

Thanks for your answer. If he'll become a citizen the process would be faster?

Now they process 22December 2010, so line is almost the same, but lot's of things might happen in 7 years. F1 was going 2 years ahead of F2B, then F2B catch up and got 1 year ahead F1, then F1 catch up again. If your father will become citizen and you'll be forwarded to F1, you'll have possibility to opt-out to F2B if this category will move faster at the end of your PD become current.
