Hey Guys, I see some friends suggested to do "status check" via the NVC website. So, I did and got this message! My PD is March 25th, 2011. Does the message mean anything? Also, I called NVC a month ago and they confirmed that they did not send me any letter yet!? Thanks

Ps. I am in USA now and just need to do "change of status", Anybody knows the steps for so it?

Hi,

My PD is 18, January 2007, I was under the F2B visa category but last year my Mother (the petitioner) got naturalized. I was upgraded to F1 Category but after learning from the Visa bulletin that this category is almost 1 year behind, I decided to write a letter to USCIS Field officer in the Philippines to request for my F2B retention. This was approved last December.  We sent all the needed AOS, financial and civil documents last December 19, 2016. We received an email confirmation from them that the case has been completed and is awaiting the availability of visa numbers last March 9, 2017. I checked the NVC website and it shows "AT NVC" status. Does anybody know about this status and how long it will take for NVC to forward my case to the embassy and schedule me for an interview?

That is correct status, because your case is still at NVC. When your PD will get current, you'll receive your IL and your case will be forwarded to the embassy. Only then your status will change from "At NVC" to "In transit-->Ready-->AP-->Issued".

Well, it depends on Visa bulletin, how fast it'll move in upcoming months. Current PD is 15JUN2006, you might get current in half a year and that would be very optimistic. Good luck:)

Hi Everyone,

I have a March 2011 Priority date. I see on the NVC website that F2b are currently September 15, 2010. Does anyone know if they send the welcome letter before the priority date becomes current. Do I need to wait until the priority date is current in order to file the Choose of Agent.

Thanks

Doug

Your welcome letter might be anytime now, give it a month or so, if you are as anxious as i was you can call NVC and they will inform you if your case is ready.

The welcome letter comes before the case is current because it allows you to send in the necessary documents to be processed beforehand.

Once you receive the welcome letter, it means your case is open hence you will be able to choose an agent and send the required documents.

If you are able to log into this site then you are on your way.

https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx  you will need your case number and receipt number.

best regards

Visa bulletin's 2nd chart will show if you'll receive your welcome letter next month. Most likely it'll finally move, as haven't moved in a long time and PD for all categories are getting current.
