Hi everyone!!!

Yesterday I got an email from the USCIS web site in which they state like this:

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Current Status:

On March 6, 2006, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 14 days have passed and you have not received the notice, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision or advice from USCIS within the projected processing time frame*, please contact the National Customer Service Center.

National Customer Service Center (800) 375-5283.

*The projected processing time frame can be found on the receipt notice that you received from the USCIS.

*** Please do not respond to this e-mail message.

Sincerely,

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)

What kind of additional evidence/information are they asking for? Like the original marriage certificate or new pictures? Pics of our marriage? I don't understand....in the instructrions they say, to prove relationship, you only need the marriage certificate, they don't say they need pics of our marriage or anything like that....

I didn't know you needed to prove the bona-fida marriage when you file the I130! And now, after 4 motnhs of silence, they come out and aks for additional things. Why's that?

You may have left a question blank, forgotten a signature etc......it could be a number of things. Mostly they are just simple errors on forms or something you have forgotten to submit.

we got an RFE from USCIS... they wanted our marriage certificate (lawyer had just mailed the certificate thing we got from the Marriage Commiosner) and hubby's long form birth certificate... we hadn't heard a thing in about 5 months and then we got the RFE... we got our NOA 2 a few weeks after we sent in the stuff they wanted...

this was just my experience.... your RFE could be anything...

We contacted our friends who lives in NYC and he called them like 2 hours ago....he called the national customer service center (the 1800 number) and there's actually an option on the menu about RFE or whatever they're called...at first it an automatic response and ita asks for the recepit number, once he put my number the automatic service says just like this "A DOCUMENT IS MISSED" and then "if you wanna know what document is missed please press 1" he pressed 1 but the stupid answer machine just kept saying "a document is missed" yeah but what document???? You can talk to a operator but he said he wild have to wait 30 minutes  wow! This morning at 8 o'clock NY time he called them and he actually talked to a woman but she said we need to wait for the receipt to come. I don't know. I have a photocopy of my I130 and we checked it again (twice) today and it seems perfect to me....like it is signed, it has the date in there, every spot is completed nothing was left blank. And I remember we gave them the pics, the G235As and the marriage certificate plus my husband's birth certificate.

Cna anyone give me an example of what it can be....like what kind of document could we have missed whenever you don't actually need a lot of documents for the I130?

Can anyone give me an example of what it can be....like what kind of document could we have missed whenever you don't actually need a lot of documents for the I130?

Is your husband the USC? Did you send your birth certificate? The non-USC's birth certificate is not listed as one of the things that is required, but it can sometimes be requested nevertheless. I'm told this can happen if you have a common name -- there may be a "hit" on one of the computerized security checks, and your birth certificate is used to distinguish between you and other people with your name, but different birthdates and parents.

But this is just a wild guess. It's also possible they lost one of the documents that you sent them.

It will become clear when you have the RFE in your hand. At least the RFE means they started looking at your paperwork. Here's hoping the RFE will be quick and simple to handle.

Hi everyone I first wanna thank you for your replies.....they are really helping us a lot!!!

When we sent our I130 we made sure we would send all the required documents, such as:

my husband's (US citizen) birth certificate, front and back as a proof of US citizenship

my birth certificate (like you said, just in case, you never know) with the official english translation

our marriage certificate

Biographic documents 2 G325As

2 passport size pics one of me and the other one my husband's

and, of course, the money order for 185$ I think we paid it was the second week of October 2005, so fees hadn't been changed yet.

That's it pretty much...maybe they just want the original copy of our marriage certificate or maybe they lost something. We are kind of freaking out here because we keep thinking of what is wrong and the more I think, the more I realize....Nothing is actually wrong with our petition....it was perfect, or at least we thought it was.

Because when our friend called they specifically said "a document IS MISSED" So, I guess we MISSED something, like we didn't put something that was actually required....but as you can see we even put my birth certificate, which was not required at all. So it was moe than perfect. Unless, whne they opened the envelope, our pics fell and now thye need new ones. Jesus, I don't know what more I can think of. What else is required for the I130 that we have probably missed?

Thanks a lot guys!!! (L)

Unfortunately, I got something similar from USCIS last summer. The difference being, it was more specific about what they needed than your request appears to be. It was a yellow form, and there was a "check" next to what they needed.

My problem was since I had no need for a birth certificate for years.....I sent in a copy of a "certificate of birth" from the hospital that I was born at.....and not a copy of the birth certificate (which needed to be one of the newer ones with the "raised" emblem/insignia on it) not knowing the difference at the time.

Thankfully, by the time I had recieved that notice in the summer, I had actually just purchased a replacement "birth certificate", because I needed one to get a passport as well last May.

So, I sent in a copy of my new birth certificate, and since I had just recently received the passport by then as well, I sent it in too.

My point is............make sure that what you sent in as evidence of your US citizenship was an "acceptable" form of proof. They may be requesting another copy of a newer birth certificate?

I know this is all just speculation......I am just trying to give you ideas of what it "might" be.

Yeah you're right we were actually thinking about that too....but the problem is a lot worse, because we sent the SAME birth certificate with the I-129F to prove his american citizenship and our I-129F was successfully approved. So its not possibile that the birth certificate was good for the I-129F and its not good for the I-130. thanks for the reply!!! :)
