Few Questions on Interview and Medical Exam

We are getting close to the finish line...finally.

My fiancee has received her P4 (email) from China embassy yesterday.

We are waiting for a police certificate from Russia (where she went to college).

1) While waiting for Russian police certificate...

I went through the web site to see the appointment date openings,

and it only showed openings for 3 week range and dates before and after that

were grey-ed out and not selectable. Is this normal?

2) Can she get medical exam done prior to having the interview date set,

or is it required to have interview date before doing medical exam?

3) If additional shots are needed, do they administer them during the medical exam?

Or does she need separate appointment for this? Anyone know general cost for these shots?

4) Also, they require at least two weeks of medical exam completion before the interview,

so is that including getting all necessary shots as well?

5) After medical exam, does the hospital forward the results directly to US embassy/consulate office?

Or does she bring the results to the interview?

I can answer one of them: She does not need any shots before arriving in the US, but she needs all of them before you apply for AOS here. And whatever they charge for the shots in China, in the US you will pay much more. So get them done there.

Yes, that is what I've noticed. My fiance and I have been waiting for a block of dates to open in mid-august so that I can travel to Guangzhou to be with her. From what I can tell, they release new available time slots in week long blocks, Monday through Thursday with 10 available slots each day at two different times (5 @ 8:15am and another 5 @ 9:20am).

Basically, scheduling blocks are released from GUZ IV into CGI/Stanley 1 or 2 times each month. So, keep checking ustraveldocs.com/cn when logged in.

Also - the visa validity duration is tied to the date of the medical exam - so since the medical exam can be a 1 day thing if'n she goes in early in the morning, I suggest she not get it done till the week of or the week prior to the interview.

Also, the medical exam place wants to see the interview appointment letter - that comes later after you've successfully scheduled the appointment online.

Regarding this question (#5), I believe you go pick up the results of the medical exam in a sealed envelope, which you then bring to CITIC bank to be sent by courier directly to the embassy.

We went the day before the interview first thing in the morning for medical and had the results after lunch in the sealed envelope. She'll need the rest of the shot series when she gets to the US for AOS, but she can get the first dose of MMR/Tdap/etc during the medical.

Also, bring the appointment letter to the medical exam that states the actual appointment time for the interview, NOT the "interview letter" as they say in the P4. Don't make the same mistake I did...

We just found out that Russian police certificate can take up to 4 months. Argghhhh...

So we will hold off on medical and interview appointment until we receive it.
