What happens if you fail for not having enough financial support?

I was just wondering what would happen if we failed at the interview stage of the k1 for not making enough on the 2014 tax returns? I am a new graduate (feb 2014) and i spent 4 months in viet Nam with my fiance after graduating, so making the 125% poverty by dec 31, 2014 (which, from what i hear, is what the consulate uses) will be pretty difficult. I did just obtain a new job though and am working 2 jobs which would allow me to make over the 125% easily if i had this job for a full year, so failure isn't a guarantee, but i was wondering, in the event that we do fail, would i have to resubmit everything all over again? Or would I be given some time (next tax year) to prove that i made over the 125%?

Thank you for your time.

The way I see it, you have yet submitted your I-129F so by the time you do, with the wait time right now at TSC, your fiancee might not get her interview until sometime next year. The avg processing time for VN is 8-9 months, give or take. That would allow you enough time to meet the income requirements.

Basicaly no money no honey ... you either need to change your situation so you qualify or find a joint sponsor

Finding a joint sponsor isn't a problem, both my brother and sister are willing to be my cosponsors and they make 65k and 40k a year respectively. My sister doesn't have any dependents and my brother has his wife and two kids. But as far as i understand, Vietnam doesn't accept cosponsors for the k1 visa.

you can use your parent as backup as your financial supporter.

i don't think Vietnam care about how much you are making. US gov't would care.

Correct, I haven't submitted my 129f yet. I was planning to go back to Vietnam for 2 weeks to get our marriage certificate but with my new job, I cant do that yet. Also, I dont know what papers I need to bring and what can be done there in order to get our marriage cert. Ideally, if going the fiance route, an interview in February of 2016 would be perfect since i would surely have made enough for the 2015 period. Also, i would be able to visit her when i acquire 2 weeks of vacation, so i would have visited her 3 times for a total time of ~ 6 months which would make our case even stronger, not to mention, i miss the **** out of my girl. haha

It depends on how much "coffee money" you want to spend. A friend of mine had his marriage papers done in 2 days, but he had to spend $1,000.

If you have a decent job that can't take off more than 2 weeks, $1,000 is a good bargain.

What does Vietnam have to do with co-sponsor? Your brother or sister can sponsor you. They will fill out an i-864 form just like you.

It is to my understanding that Vietnam is one of those countries that does not usually accept a joint sponsor for the k1 visa. Therefore, they look mainly on my financials. Although it is recommended that I find someone to be a joint sponsor with me, the CO at Vietnam is not under any obligations to accept such joint sponsors.

I agree. $1000 would definitely be a good bargain if it is guaranteed that we can get it finished in under a week and a half with a 3 day tolerance. But there are no such guarantees.
