August visa bulletin predictions - Will F2A turn current like it did in 2013???

Last year, August 2013 visa bulletin turned "current" for F2A and remained as such til June Z014 retrogression. Last year visa availability, considered as unique, was made by State Department to create demand for visas. August visa bulletin will be out in coupe of days...Do you think the same thing will happen this year??? crossing fingers!!!

The priority dates will slowly move forward after retrogression. It will not make a huge leap or become "C" again.

There are others here who made it to the embassy interview only to be denied because of the retro.

See that's all kinds of wrong. WOW how they do that to people. Now now they sit for months or years I dare say??

And I am noticing NVC is taking forever to upgrade. I know 4 people sent in their citizenship papers since April and nothing "still in review".

What in the world is going on here Apple21?"

VB especially for family based seems to be like a lottery to the outside world due lack of proper data available to make a prediction. I am not sure if an FOIA will make DOS to release the Demand data for Family based categories. I did an FOIA during my Employment based GC when USCIS made a data entry error with respect to my PD in their system few years back and did get a CD that showed my GC paperwork from start to finish including the departments it went through inside USCIS and the name of the officer who adjudicated my case. I really wish DOS releases some kind of Demand data for Family based categories to the common man to make a VB movement prediction.

DOS needs to explain how they are doing the "Fallup" and Fall down" allocation of Visa numbers. Does this even make sense when every family based category is retrogressed for China? Love to see the Demand data for FB categories.

D. VISA AVAILABILITY IN THE COMING MONTHS

The China-mainland born Employment Third and Third Other Workers cut-off dates have advanced for the month of August, and could do so again for September. There are two reasons for this advance after the retrogression of the cut-off date earlier this summer: 1) The heavy demand by applicants with priority dates significantly (years) earlier than the previous cut-off date has declined during the past two months, and 2) declining number use in the Family preferences during May and June, combined with updated estimates of such number use through the end of the fiscal year, has resulted in availability of several hundred numbers for use in the China-mainland born Employment Third preference.

You need to literally keep hitting redial until you finally get through. Then wait on hold for half an hour or more.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

I call about 7:00PM central time and almost always get placed in line.

Wait another 30 minutes and I get a real person!

One of those would be our I-130 for my sister-in-law.

Our application is in Manila and was scheduling for an interview when everything fell apart.

Worst part is my sister-in-law will turn 21 end of month...

Not sure how long Child Protection will hold her but its unlikely she will become current again before she drops off F2A and into F2B.... then its years and years of waiting....

I guess one good thing is that her application will remain in Manila and not be returned to NVC so if by some Act of God she does becomes current, we will be able to step right back into the process with little time lost.
