list of evidence for ROC

Hi guys,

So I am beginning to freak out about husband's roc. His gc expires on 8/6/14 so I need to send the packet this week ASAP.

We have been waiting till the end because of an impending move but I am afraid of waiting even longer so we will just need to submit the address change a week or so after filing.

Now, as I started to collect evidence, I am freaking out that we do not have enough. The last two years have gone by so fast and with the birth of a baby, school and careers, I am afraid we didn't collect evidence for the sake of having it. Can you please let me know if you think we have enough or any suggestions you may have.

-Cover letter

-Affidavit of support from parents - notarized statement that we (and later our child as well) have resided with them in their apartment since hubby's arrival to the US. Says in letter that we have been contributing to their maintanence and utilities.

-Copy of GC front and back

- Copy of driver license and my ID showing same residence

- Birth Certificate of our child (born 2013)

- Tax transcripts- married filing jointly- 2013, 2012, 2011. Copy of return and w2s from 2013.

- Joint savings account statements throughout 2-3 years

- Joint checking account letter from bank (just opened july 2014 bc each time we tried opening one before there was an issue- status, name errors or ss issues constantly until we gave up and forgot about it).

- Health/dental insurance- I have been under my husbands since 2013- statements of open enrollment

- Health bills- same address, same insurance for all three of us

- letters from Hospital regarding insurance for labor and delivery

- Dental bills- showing same address, same dates of service (we go to all appointments together)

- Beneficiary information for 403b plan

- copy of credit cards with my husband and my names

- Pictures throughout the last 3 years - trips together and with family, throughout pregnancy, hospital photos and with the baby

- Affidavits from 1 friend and from my family - not notarized

- Wedding invitations, cards addressed to us both

The car only lists my mom and husband since I dont drive. Cell phone bill doesnt allow adding a second name on account. Honestly, I can't think of much else at this point. I am now collecting checking acount statements and will have a signed lease after we move and utility bills so I will be all ready in case we get an RFE. At this point, we just want to send out the packet to avoid being late.

Wow. That's probably going to do you just fine. All I sent was:

(No cover letter)

Her GC

Her military dependent ID

My military ID

A bank statement from the previous month with both our names on it.

My LES (pay stub)

A check

That's it.

Your evidence looks great! I can't see a reason for a (non-random) RFE. Do you have copies of the credit card statements as opposed to just the cards? In any case you have a lot more than others were able to provide and they were approved. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately the credit statements only have my name as my husband is an authorized user. Also, should I explain living with parents in cover letter as well or is their affidavit enough?

I think the affidavit is enough, just mention it in the cover letter. Showing him as an authorized user is exactly what you want. You already have lots of proof of joint residence. This could bolster the joint financial liability side of it (even though you have plenty of proof). Anyone can open a credit card together and get the cards and then, say, immediately cancel them and just show the copies of the cards. But I err on the side of "I'm going to flood you with all the evidence I have so you better not think of RFE-ing me!"

My husband was not on the credit card bills but he is an authorized user and we have the cards with same number

Oops. I read incorrectly. I thought you said both names were on the statement but his name only showed up as an authorized user (as opposed to a co-owner of the account). Never mind!
