 Patience. Control. Restraint. Forgiveness. Turn the other cheek.

20 more days, and then it's on Spook.

It should never be on. You should strive for and practice forgiveness, patience, turning the other cheek etc ALL the time, not just during special Holy seasons. By counting the days until you go back to the way things were shows that you are still a young Jedi in training and have much to learn. You've missed the point of your fasting and sacrifice. Don't succumb to the temptation of getting even.

If you're going to refer to me as a Jedi, I demand to be Mace Windu. You know, because he's the best and black, Affirmative Action and all that.

I'm humbled by your post and will strive to be better.

Grasshopper, we should all strive to be better. May the Force be with you. There is no race or color, in God's eyes we are all the same.

It always is, I have a lightsaber in my closet. Too bad some folks can't see we're all equal under our Creator. And the same to you.

If you truly believed that, I think you would be doing more to make yourself blend in, instead of always trying to point out how you are so different and... treated as less human, somehow?

You're kidding right?

Here in this forum, I've been attacked for nothing more than making a comment. Not about race or religion, just because I'm who I am. IRL, I've been treated poorly based on my appearance and skin color. Luckily, I don't look like a Muslim, or so I've been told. I dress normal, I speak with proper grammar, and I try to treat all people as equals, even those who despise me based on my beliefs or my race.

A couple of months ago, I was in a thread having a discussion with the person who would become my stalker later on. For about 2 replies, we were getting along. Then someone posted a story about the knock out game. Next thing I know, I'm being told how every black person is a lazy, filthy, worthless animal that needs to be locked up in a cage. The funny part? I apologized to him for his bad experiences with black people and asked him nicely to refrain from grouping all of us together in the same circle. His response? BTW, I can't stand muslims either so I get a double dose of insults. This person proceeded to create sock puppets for the sole reason to attack Islam and black people.

What I point out is, there is a difference in how people are treated. It's out in the open, but folks rather not see it because it lets you know, it's still out there.

I am FAR from kidding.

Have you not seen how some members here attack nearly everything I say? Doesn't seem to matter if I am right or not, they just do it. And so? ####### does it matter? At the end of the day, I know I am a successful, upstanding, caring person, and the people who know me IRL know it too.

I have known a LOT of blacks in my time, but never one who seems so quick to throw the "poor me, I'm black, and everyone hates me" flag as you seem wont to do. I wonder what your life would be like if you quit doing that? No way to tell, because I doubt you ever will quit. But I sincerely wish you would, for your own good. You seem like an intelligent, well-spoken person, minus this one teeny, tiny little hang-up.

*sigh*

Forgive me, I had a coupla margaritas tonight, and my fingers are moving WAY faster than my brain. But I do really think you'd be much farther ahead in life if you's lose that chip. You don't know me, I don't know you, we can't affect each other in any way, so that is truly free advice. Yours to disdain or to look into as such.
