Can't get status on case

We received our NOA back in April, and did biometrics in May. But when I go to USCIC.gov and try to see status updates, I get the following error when I enter the receipt number from the I-797:

  • Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283.

Any idea why I cannot add this case to my protfolio nor get current status on it?

Also, on the threads showing completion times, what does the "approved" column actually mean? We have the I-797 saying we are extended for a year, and we did biometrics. Should we receive another letter saying we are approved or something?

You have to use the number on the biometrics, not on the NOA1. It says that on the NOA1.

And yes, you will receive a notice that your I-751 was approved and a new 10-year GC ordered. That is approved.

Thanks Harpa, I was cornfused because when someone (who shall remain nameless to protect their innocence) scanned the appointment letter into PDF on his computer, he only scanned the back side, not the front side with the EAC number.

Biometrics was 5/6/2014, but last activity on the case was 4/9/2014. Moving at the speed of government, as usual. Then again, we are well under the 6-month norm.

Our ROC took nearly 9 months, no RFEs, so I hope yours is faster :) The monthly filers threads keep track of current processing times.

Yeah, I just added our data to April. Seems the VSC filers are still waiting for any action at all...
