Exactly what IRS tax forms are submitted with the N-400 ?

My wife is getting ready to submit her N-400. We have been married 6 years, but my wife has only been here in the US for the last 3 years.

Each year we file a "Married Filling Jointly" IRS tax form.

The instructions say to attach "IRS Certified Copies" of our tax forms ..... How do you get an IRS "Certified" copy?

It also says you can submit an "IRS Tax Return Transcript" ... Don't know what that is either.

QUESTION ....... Can't we just submit photocopies of the tax returns from the last 3 years?

Does my wife also have to submit copies of the W2 forms showing wages that go along with the 1040?

Just go to the IRS website, download and print them directly from there. It's fast, easy and free.
