Pending Immigrant Fee(Green Card Fee) and crossing into the US

Hi all. I have received my passport with my visa and my packet for the customs agent. I have paid the $165.00 immigrant fee(Green card fee) It still shows pending in my bank account, My question is...Can I cross into the US on my Spousal visa if the Green Card fee is still pending?? or will they turn me away???

05/19/12 : Got married

USCIS

07/21/13 : I-130 Mailed to USCIS

07/24/13 : NOA1

01/13/14 : Case transferred to CSC

01/31/14 : NOA2

NVC

02/11/14 : NVC received the case

03/18/14 : Case number assigned and IIN/BIN

03/19/14 : ENROLL Email sent (Did not receive auto reply)

03/20/14 : DS-261 Available and submitted

03/21/14 : AOS bill Available and paid

03/26/14 : AOS shows paid

03/26/14 : ENROLL email sent again (Received auto reply this time)

03/26/14 : AOS Emailed to NVC (No auto reply, but this is the email they responded too)

04/17/14 : NVC acknowledges receipt of AOS-notice by email

04/21/14 : AOS approved (No checklist woo hoo, by phoning NVC))

04/21/14 : False check list for IV docs- email from NVC

04/28/14 : NVC reviewed DS-260

04/29/14 : False checklist for IV docs- email from NVC(the second one they've sent me)

05/05/14 : NVC acknowledges receipt of IV- notice by email

05/06/14 : Case Complete

05/14/14 : Interview scheduled--JUNE 25

06/03/14 : Medical with Dr. Ian Zatzman

07/11/14 : POE Qweenston/Lewiston Bridge New York

You might want to check with your bank first and verify that it is indeed still pending. They may have cashed it but are waiting for some type of time or paperwork to finish out the transaction, or it may just be an error on the bank's part with something not being updated in a timely way.

If you have the visa in your passport, then USCIS has determined that all of the criteria you were required to meet, including financial ones, have been satisfied. You should be good to go. When you cross the border I believe you will be providing the address where you will be staying in the US, so if worse comes to worse and there is a problem with the fee afterwards, they will let you know. As long as you are a permanent resident, you are going to be in their 'hands' and under their 'thumb', so don't worry - and good luck :) .

New immigrant fee can be paid anytime up to the first year when the temporary green card expires. Really doesn't matter if you paid it before you leave to the USA or after you get there. Takes about 1-3 months to get after POE or payment, whichever is later.


It's not mandatory to pay this before you enter the USA is what I'm saying. :)


Keep updated on your green card with your ELIS. Get the SSN 2-3 weeks after arrival if you don't get it automatically. Confirm at that time that your SAVE db is correct (they like to mush first and middle names at POE.)

12/2: Case Transferred to CSC

12/17/2013: NOA-2!!!! (8 Months, 2 days)

NVC:

12/27/2013: Case received by NVC

1/23/2014: NVC Case #, BIN, & IIN received.

1/31/2014: DS-261 Available & filled out.

2/4/2014: AOS Invoice available & paid

2/7/2014: I-864(AOS) completed & sent

2/11/2014: IV Bill availiable and paid.

2/14/2014: DS-260 completed (IV)

2/14/2014: DS-260 support documents sent

2/26/2014: I-864 (AOS) documents received and logged by NVC.

3/4/2014: Checklist for AOS ( I knew it :|a)

3/5/2014: Checklist for AOS submitted

3/7/2014: DS-260 documents received & logged by NVC

3/13/2014: IV packet + documents approved and logged

4/14:2014: Case Complete!!! (3 months 2 weeks 4 days @NVC)

Consulate:

Medical: 05/28/2014 ✓

Interview: 06/03/2014 (?)

Consulate didn't like our police records, have to resend--> AP

APPROVED: 07/02/2014

visa in hand: 07/11/2014

PoE: Halifax Stanfield International (07/25/2014)

REMOVING CONDITIONS:

06/10/2016: Packet Mailed

06/16/2016: Check Cashed

7/11/2016: Biometrics Appointment
