How to get Cousin Brother in US

Hello everyone,

I came as Student Visa in 2007. Got my Green Card in 2013 March through Marriage.

My cousin tried for US Visitor Visa in 2010 when I was still student, and it got denied.

I was wondering if I, as permanent resident, can do something to help him get the Visitor's visa. If yes, what are the chances of him getting Visitor's visa?

Also, if not visitor's visa, what else can I do to get him here? Like Business visa, any particular job visa?

Thanks in advance for your valuable information

I don't think there is anything you can do to help. Definitely, do not to try the B1 visa again (at least not for 6 months). Do not even think of "invitations letters", those do not work. In a tourist visa, its pretty much everyone on his own. Is your cousin a college student? If so maybe he can try the J1 visa...

You can help him understand he applies on his own merits for a tourist visa. You can also advise him not to attempt to obtain any visa by trying to get away with a series of lies such as a fake job or business visa when it doesn't apply to him. This is not only a waste of time and money but will lead to a life time ban.

There is nothing you can do. No one, not even a USC, can help with a visitor visa.

Why would he need a business visa to visit the US?

Why does he need a job visa to visit the US?

Why is he so desperate to get to the US?

He wanted to visit me and family, but he doesn't have strong background (not that strong of income, bank balance etc)

I have heard that you can have some business in US, and as a special expertise, you can bring someone here in US to work. I might have heard wrong, but that is why I am making sure here.

Let's say, someone is teaching YOGA in India, and you open up business here in US, and you need to bring that person as teacher, you can put file for that. is that correct? Does it seem so complex to be able to explain to lawyer rather than herE?

Sorry if I am not clear. please feel free to ask any questions you have.

When you open the " yoga " business you will need to prove that you can not find anyone living in the USA to teach the class.

I think what you are going to attempt to do is clear enough. You and he will find that trying to play the system leads to another denial but as always its up to both of you how you want to educate yourselves about the process of legal entry into the USA. You methods are going to be expensive and time consuming but you will learn I am sure.

You can call this new over night business anything you want but the rules are the same for compliance. Of course this very type of thing is exactly why its so difficult to get a tourist visa and why there are so many rules ect for every other type.

That's not how it works.

You open the business in the US. You hire US people to teach yoga. If you can not find a US person who is qualified for the job, then you need to get a Dept. of Labor certification explaining your search for a US person and why you need to bring in a foreign person.

If things worked the way you think, then all of us would be opening businesses to get our relatives here rather than hire US people. However, the unemployed Americans who want the jobs but can't get them because we brought our families over to work would be very upset with the politicians for allowing this. No country has this policy because no country favors giving jobs to foreign nationals outside the country rather than citizens and legal residents.

Unless teaching yoga requires a college degree, that wouldn't work even if you couldn't find a US citizen to do it. It just can't be done.

You have to prove there are no qualified US workers to fill the position. has nothing to do with college. I'm pretty sure that there are plenty of qualified yoga instructors on the US
