Hello, I have a question for you guys on VJ, that it seems that is not on here. I became a LPR in AUG of last year. I adjusted my status with two counts of simple battery in CA. I had no problems adjusting none what so ever. My question lies here, I want to travel out out the country for the first time in 25 years. I hears that if I leave the country I would be detained to secondary inspection for certain. Plus I would have to carry all of my immigration paperwork with the final court disp. Plus someone also told me that I might have a lawyer draw up in assibility letter and a G-325 showing I have a lawyer On hand. What scared be s***less is that I was told that CBP can detain me and have me deported in front of a IJ if they have any problems with my conviction because they don't understand simple immigration law, they can make a very expensive mistake for me. Has any one have serious trouble or problems coming into LAX with a past criminal record.

No. During my adjustment interview I reviewed my convictions with the interviewing officer and all she wanted to see my final court dispositions. I remember two questions were asked of me

: what were you arrested for: battery

What were you convicted of : battery

Then she asked for my final court dispensation.

I got in a fight with my gf at the time who now is my wife. I was first charged with domestic batterty and I just don't want CBP ask and say

" so you were arrested for committing domestic bartery ?

Then I would say yes then the y will try to deport me with a admission of CIMT which I did not not commit "

Now if I travel out of the country I have to get a G-28, addmissbility letter citing case law, and a newly ordered Final court disposition. This stuff is going to cost me around $500 while the plane ticket only cost me $300 ......I am so upset about this. :(
