I recently filed for my I-130 in May of 2014. I received I-797 a few days later.This is my question. Doing research on and off this site, I have concluded that different service centers have faster approval dates for NOA2. I have a friend in Boston that had his wife here from the D.R in 6 months (CR-1). Unfortunately he did not join this website. I also have another friend in Dallas, Tx had his wife in the states that took him 8 months from start to finish. Both of my friends are Law Enforcement such as myself. I am sure different factors make up the outcome of the approval status. I have also read that USCIS is trying to approve I-130 in 90 days because of the serious delays in the past? Do anyone have any suggestions or comments?

You are right in your observation...its a case by case basis as well. The 90 days is new to me. I wish that were true in my case it is going on 13 weeks or 120 days and counting. Now I do have a friend that has been approved in 90 days so it may be some level of truth for some.

The warmth of true friendship and the love that binds the hearts of husband and wife are a foretaste of heaven. God has ordained that there should be perfect love and perfect harmony between those who enter into the marriage relation. Let bride and bridegroom in the presence of the heavenly universe pledge themselves to love one another as God has ordained they should. {LYL}

Unless your friends filed expedites, I doubt those timelines they offered. 6 months from start to finish is not likely for your scenario. 8-9 might be doable if everything goes smoothly. Folks like me that filed last November are looking at about 11 months as we came at the end of the bubble.

A few years back the system moved along a little faster. But for the last 24 months things have been back logged badly. DACA caused the USCIS to become flooded with minority illegals looking to get their work permits back in 2012 and the residual effect is just now subsiding. Wait times at the USCIS seem to be averaging about 5-6 months which is a vast improvement. I've seen nothing published about 90 days, if you look at the current timelines here you will get an idea of where you are at by service center.

My suggestion is to have patience and see if there is a I-130 Filing thread from the month you filed and follow along so you see what's happening. You can also peek in on the month prior too so you can see the approvals coming along.
