Requirements are almost the same as for the K-1, some things are age specific. Questions at the interview are age specific as well, but very informal.

Follow the embassy instructions letter for the K2 same as for you.

In our case, our 2 K2's were not asked many questions. The daughter was asked what was she studying (she is a University Student at the time), was she going to work in US and her new address in USA. The son (elementary age) was asked, what do you call him and he replied Tito Denny. Also, was asked what do you do when he is with you? So the CO was using the questions to determine if there was a connection or a beginning of "bonding" between me and them.

Not many more questions then that but they were age specific. Just instruction your K2's to answer honestly and to look the CO in the eye when answering and you should have no problems.1943.gif

Thank you. I have not received the embassy letter but downloaded a pdf file from te US Embassy web site where i got the instructions for the medical exam.

Just getting a little bit nervous... My son has his biological father's last name and his father signed his bc on paternity. I have read some people saying i might beed father's consent. Even the counselor from CFO mentioned it. Well, she just said "it might" be asked by Philippine Immigration during departure. So I wondered if it might be asked by the consul too.

My son is 9 years old. I hope it would be as easy for him.

The embassy will not mail you a copy of the instructions letter, it is only available online.

As for the father, you do NOT need his consent for anything, the mother has sole custody of the child, unless there are specific court documents giving the father custody.

Our experience is this: Hiedy was not married to Derek's father. Derek is 2.

Father is not listed on the BC.

We were told that we do not need anything from the bio father as she has sole custody.

If available, it would help if you bring a photo of your derivative and your petitioner. My fiancee included a photo of himself with my son in his I129F packet. The CO asked my son where and when the photo was taken.
