My husband filed I-130 on behalf of my daughter and I, in May 2013.

It was returned as one signature was required and then they cashed

the cheque. Despite that the petition is still in pending mode.

My husband is calling them weekly. They often just hung up after having

been on hold for a very long time.

Any suggestions what we should do.

I am thinking if going over for a visit as we have been apart for too long...

each person needs their own I-130. So if your daughter is not a US citizen, she needs her own petition, documents and fees.


Also your husband needs to call his congressman and ask for help because this is WAY over the processing times.

Both petitions were filed at the same time. We have got in touch with the Senator.

Has he tried his congressman. Sometimes they seem to be more effective in this than a senator.

I would go for a visit anyhow. I know when I was in the process (and before we started) going longer than 3 months without being able to touch my husband was about at the limit for both of us. Sometimes, you just need a friggin hug!

By congressman, do you mean their House representative?

(Senators are also referred to as congressmen/women)

Done: I-327
