Austria applicants / visa holders

Been looking for a topic in here for Austrian people who have either applied or are currently in the process of applying for a visa in the US.

My fiance (US citizen) and I have applied for a K-1 visa. We got our NOA1 on the 6th of March and we are at the Texas Service Center.

I know it is not yet time to worry, but I kinda hoped there would be some Austrian people around who went through this process and have some kind of tips or advice on the whole process or on the embassy. I have read all the feedback on them, but I suppose not everyone updated that :P

It'd be nice to get some insight from someone who has been through this :)

Dear Charleysnow,

Thank you for creating this post. It's very nice to see filers from Austria. :)

My fiancé and I joined Visa Journey in January this year and filed the petition on April 22nd. We received the NOA1 on April 28th or so and

we got the NOA2 on June 19th which to be honest, was quite a surprise. Other than that, we have not received any news yet.

I see that you have received your NOA1 on March 6th so it's been almost 4 months now. I think the waiting period is 5 months, according to the timeline. According to some posts I read, your fiancé can follow through by calling USCIS to enquire about your status.

I wish you all the best and hope you get your NOA2 very soon!

Kind regards,

S. & B.

Hey! Thanks for replying :)

We are waiting for the 5 month mark and then he is going to call USCIS to ask where we stand! I really hope we get the NOA2 before the 5 month mark, but it's only 4 more weeks until then..

My biggest question right now is about the language that the interview is going to be in. I wonder if it is going to be in German or English and somehow this is stressing me out even though it shouldn't as I am fluent in both :P

Please keep me up to date on your process, I am really interested to see what lies ahead for us :)

You're welcome Charleysnow,

We hope you get your NOA2 very soon and do not have to wait for 4 weeks.

The interview will likely be conducted in English--I believe. But you shouldn't worry about the language as you're both fluent in German and English.

You might also want to check this link and see what our fellow Austrians wrote about their experience with the interview. http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Austria

As for our case, we are still awaiting the instructions from the NVC. We'll keep you up-to-date as we are happy to share with you our experience and/or anything that might help you down the road.

Meanwhile, I wish you and your fiancé "Alles Gute" and a super "Schnell" approval. :)

Best,

S. & B.

Oh yay! More Austrians!

My fiance and I are only two weeks into this process, at the TSC, how do you stay sane not knowing how long this takes?

fingers crossed for everyone :-)

Hey!

You just kinda have to keep faith that everything is going to be fine and keep yourself busy to distract yourself from the wait :P

I picked up the visa today, so after 7 months we have it in hand and I can finally move to my fiance!

Good luck!!
