I called the info line on December 19th after being transfered on the 14th September and having heard nothing since. The lady I spoke with about my transfered I-485 told me that I was outside of CSC's processing dates for transfered i-485 and she sent them a service centre request where I should hear something back from CSC within the next 45 days. That is just my personal case, I know of a few others who have been waiting since september who were told to make infopass appointments.

JamesMiranda, I was told 90 days from date of transfer, I called 95 days after the transfer and had a service request sent out. Who knows if the service request actually does anything, I guess time will tell with that one, but luckily I'm with my husband and have my EAD so I can work so i guess things could be a lot worse than waiting for my greencard. I hope you do get it sorted quickly so you can get a house, I too want to stop renting and starting owning!

Hmm well it's been 103 days! :P However, if I try to call the infoline I just get hung up on by the automatic system saying that I'm within processing dates. Is there something special I need to press to get to talk to a person?

Miranda, I just key in my case number and they tell me the usual jargon "On september 14th this case was sent to Californai Service centre blah blah blah" At the end they say you can stay on the line to be put through to an operator, so that's what I did. I'm on day 125 now I believe

It says on there wait 180 days from transfer before inquiry....I'm not sure if I have the heart to stay on the line and get yelled at by an incompetent operator!

I know what you mean, I called on a tuesday and was put through to the nicest operator within 5 minutes of being on hold. I will never ever call again on Thursdays or Fridays where I wait for 30 minutes to be put through to someone who is obviously sick of dealing with questions. You have nothing to lose by staying on the line, I stayed on the line as I was specifically told 90days by one agent. At the beginning of the call they say their ID number and name, I always write that down now and I just said agent blah blah number told me 90 days so I'm inquiring as it's past that, she told me I was indeed outside processing and she'll look into. I'm beginning to think maybe it was too good to be true as nothing has happened yet and others were told to make an infopass. It just shows how there is no real consistancy, just depends on which operator you get.

Yeah, thats the thing, there is no consistency at all. Even if you have the name and so on of the operator I bet the next one will just be like "they were wrong" and that would be it. After my one horrible experience with an operator (I ended up yelling at her and hanging up :P) I don't dare call without a really good reason. Besides, I think I'll wait a little close to my 180 days before calling and waiting for an operator since I'm still feeling very patient.

Miranda, i don't blame you for not wanting to call after having that rude operator, but thankfully I've never had a rude operator. I once waited 2 hours to speak to an immigration agent regarding my rfe (as i had sent the transcripts in and wondered what else they could be asking for) and she turned out to be the nicest lady, even talking to me about my recent hobby of cooking and telling me what programmes to watch on TLC i couldn't believe she was so nice, mind you I was on the phone to her for nearly an hour, I had an immigration meltdown on the phone but she was so nice and reasurring.

I'm not going to call now until after my 45 days are up, I'm really not impatient cos I have my EAD, a good job and get to see my husband everyday which is priceless really, it's just I never got the email saying it was pending at CSC so for all I know it could still be in transit. I just wish i could believe it when the operator says it has indeed been received by CSC. I guess I see how everyone else here gets the email and then can see their touches, and I get no email since the first one and not one touch ever since it was transferred that I feel i need to know where it is.

My beloved hubby called yesterday about our case and after 66 minutes of being on hold, it rang and rang and then cut him off. Needless to say he was not pleased.

Anyway, he called back later (he has so much more patience than me, sigh) and spoke to a chap who told him that you have to be 180 days from filing before your case is outwith their processing times. That puts us at the end of February before we can call back and have them make enquiries for us. Despite the fact beloved hubby told said chap that some people were being told that being over 90 days makes them outside processing times, he said that was not the case, and could not make the system generate an enquiry to that effect because it kept telling him we were within processing times and therefore would not let him proceed any further through the computer system.

Make of that what you will. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that this new *touch*, which doesn't seem to be a system wide technical glitch (as only a few people got one), means that something may happen before we need to call them back next month.

I live in hope...

After all, I have time

It seems everyone who calls gets a different story really, I wish they had more consistancy. I was even given a inquiry number, a totally different number from my case number to which she said in 45 days I could call and quote my new number, it was a bunch of numbers and ended in STL which i guess is st. louis which would have been my DO had i not been transferred on 14 september. Who knows we'll see what happens. I just wish my case would be touched on the online status, seeing september 15 2006 as last update is getting old now. Oh well only time will tell I suppose.

When I called about never receiving the "now pending" email the operator said they don't do this, I said I had known people who got this, and I was then told not to compare my case to theirs.

ITs a waste of your time to even call. All I get is angry when I call them. Make an infopass appointment, wait it out, hold your temper, act nice to the as&hole you deal with, hold your breath yet again and see what happens for you.

I'm not going to go to an infopass appointment simply because it would require me driving to st. louis (not too far away but not that close) to which i'd probs have to take a good few hours off work and lose money. My aos was only sent out in august so i'm not too worried about it and i'd rather wait it out than waste my time speaking to someone in person. It's still only early days relatively speaking as it hasn't even been 180 days since i filed so i'll give it a lot more time before driving through STL traffic.

I think you mean AP :)

That ticks me off so much about the whole 180/90 days thing. We have three different stories going on - 90 from transfer (as Katie heard), 180 days from transfer (as I heard from the automated system) and then 180 days from filing as wifeohunkyjohn heard. It's absolutely absurd that these people can be allowed to keep running our immigration when they can't even get anything straight!!! :ranting: :ranting:

Yes my hubby meant AP, bless him. There are just so many darn initials even I get confused.

As for the miss-information, well sadly that's how it gets its name. And the fact you have to ask yourself if they mean 180 days from filing AOS (for which hubby and I are on day 150) or 180 days from date of transfer (of which we are on day 99... it's bound to drive people crazy.

But he (said chap on said miss-information line) did say that at the end of Feb - his guess was around the 24th - we would be outwith processing times so, well... quite frankly who knows.

All I want is a straight answer

And if not a straight answer, then maybe a slightly wobbly but albeit consistent one.

Sigh
