USCIS TSC Delays

I just prepared my I-129F packet and was going to send it in this week--I addressed it to the TSC per the instructions on the USCIS website, but after hearing about these delays I was wondering if I can do anything to make sure my application gets processed by the CSC. I'm a California, so is it sent to the CSC automatically if I mail it to the TSC or do I have to call separately to request it?

I-129F petitions are not mailed directly to any service center. They are all mailed, per the instructions, to the Dallas lockbox intake facility. They are sent from there to the service centers for adjudication. No one gets to choose which service center their petition will be sent to. If you are in California, then yours will more than likely be sent to the CSC.

Folks, if you look at the processing times, the Texas Center is processing WAYYY more types of applications than the other two. It looks like they are the only ones doing N-400, which is the citizenship applications. Also, when CSC was behind last year, their work load got placed into TSC. Cut them some slack. Obviously they are overworked. Badgering them and getting the news on them will only anger them more. It is what it is :(

If you look at the USCIS website under the processing time information, you can see that they are processing about the same amount to different types of applications. There aren't many jobs where the employees aren't held accountable for their responsibilities. Why shouldn't they be?

The delays are brutal and the unpredictability of it all is what makes it even more painful.

Whenever I check random receipts, what really kills me are all those receipts (so many of them) for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals -- ie. the amnesty program for "Dreamers" who arrived in the U.S. illegally. It's bizarre that these illegals are processed by the same centers and using the same resources and manpower as those for legal applicants. It's hard enough waiting for petitions to get processed but it is understandable when you know that there is a long queue of legal applicants also waiting to get processed. But whenever I see a DACA petition approved already when it was submitted around the same time as my I485 petition, it boggles my mind.

Whenever I hear that the "immigration system" is broken -- this has got to be it. Any process that favors illegals over legal applicants is totally broken. I mean why should a single legal applicant's petition be delayed so that the petition of an illegal can be processed???

And, ladies and gentlemen, it will only get worse now that we are hearing about expanding DACA! So if your petition isn't already well underway by the time DACA is expanded sometime in the next month, watch out. That flood of 500,000 DACA petitions (many of them facing renewal starting this fall) will be joined by even more illegals. Guess where those petitions from illegals will be processed and guess who will be taking their finger prints and doing the background checking? At TSC and the other service centers which are already backlogged!

Ridiculous, especially considering that our process is funded by our fees. Their process is funded by our tax dollars. That is just horrible.

Just curious where you got the idea that DACA applications are funded by tax dollars? DACA applicants still have to pay the application fees, they are not waived.

I follow some Facebook groups and I was noticing that the processing times are going back up . Some people are reporting 7 and 8 months now. I wonder if it is their idea of a solution to the NVC backlog...... TSC changed to 5 months on March 18th 2014. and you say it went back up to 6 months today?? oh man

Have you heard back? I got my NOA1 (TSC) on 19FEB2014... I have heard nothing since. I have called and asked why it's delayed, they just said they have a backlog... It could be another 3-4 months. It's already been over 7 months, so it could be close to a year just for an NOA2 for us... it's crazy because I see all these people on here getting there NOA2's so quickly. I don't get it--- We have a really simple application - no criminal histories, no prior marriages, no dependents... I am beyond frustrated!

Best of luck!
