Our Moms Saying To Make You Quiet!

1.Shhhhhhh! too much crying and yelling will wake up the crying monster. he takes little boys and girls that never stop crying and puts them in a dark, scary room.

2. Better be good, or i'll take you to the bad boys and girls home.

3. Is you keep your' face like that, it'll get stuck and you'll never be abel to move your face again.

4. If you lie, your tounge turns black.

5. Remember ponokio?(spelled that wrong) well when you scream to get what you want, your nose does thats too.

6. Heres a 50$, go away

7. Go to bed!

8. Don't make me call the kid police, they take bad kids away and put them in jail.

9. This spatuala, if you don't be quiet this'll be up side your head!

10.If you eat candies/sweets all your teeth disappear and never come back!

..some of them remind me of my mom..Lol!

-If you kids don't cool it I swear we'll leave right now!(She only had to actually leave a place once...we didn't test her after that)

-The 'I've-had-it-if-you-say-one-more-word-you're-grounded-for-a-week' look worked quite well.(Stopped working once we hit the teens)

-I'M TRYING TO SLEEP!!!!(Mom worked nights for 20 years...we knew to not mess with her when she was sleeping)

-If you don't stop fighting over it, I'm going to take it and hide it!(This maneuver had to be used often...4 kids very close in age..and yes she ALWAYS took the toy in question.)

-Are you TRYING to pi$$ me off?(Often used during our teens, was accompanied by an even deadlier version of the above look)

Not so oddly I use all the above tactics myself, other than the last one...and I'm edging closer to it as my eldest ventures into her pre-puberty phase.

Interesting!

It was actually my dad who did most of the behavior management which consisted of:

Get out of the car and walk or sleep on the front porch in front of the neighbors. It was an equal opportunity approach, all of us kids had to do it together. I don't think these methods would be considered "pc" these days.

Today, my mom seems to control my nephew's mouth with one word (360), which refers to taking away his Xbox. It really seems to work well.

Robin quit when I told him that ''your grounded !!"-he knows that a week NO cellphone,TV,video games and PC or cut back his allowance !But I stop doing that lately cause I dont want him to grow with ''threat''IMO..He knows that im serious when im lip-tight and give him a look-more effective!
