Just an update for those with an upcoming ASC appointment: Wife went today to her appointment (El Monte, CA near LA). We decided NOT to try for an early walk-in, since it really doesn't change the outcome date at all...but we did try for an earlier hour, since I needed to help with the baby while she went in.

According to my wife, it all went smoothly. She was in and out in about 30-45 minutes, and the only reason that it took so long is that they sent her to check in with an Immigration officer before her fingerprints to get everything checked out since her names didn't match. We (like many on here) decided not to go through the official name change until now in order to save all that money. So we filled out her application with her "new" name (as it appears on her SS Card and Driver's license) and used her maiden name (from her Green Card and Passport) in the "Other names" section. This way her new card will have the new name, without having to have changed it for the original card. In the end, no problems...quickly checked and passed through, fingerprints taken, and she was done! She says she could have possibly gotten through even quicker, but she was just chatting away with everybody (she says they were all very friendly and nice!)

So, for those with upcoming appointments, don't sweat it! If, like us, you too have waited to make the official name change until now, it doesn't affect anything and if you are willing to take it with a little calm and just chat away with everyone, you too can have a great ASC day! :) Remember, even government workers are people too! lol

Now we just have to wait for the final decision and the permanent card to be mailed! :-P

I am still waiting for the biometrics letter (NOA 7/22). It's gotten to the point where if I don't check the mail, I anxiously ask the husband if there was anything. What is going on?

I'm in LA area, so if they sent something it'll be delivered in a day or two.

Still nothing in my mailbox.

I have to have a hair cut appointment just before the photo shoot for 10 years GC :P

Talking of which, my current drivers license photo came out so insanely good. It will be hard to let it go in a few months.

Does anybody know FOR SURE if our current greencards are extended 1 year from expiry date or 1 year from NOA letter date? I'm trying to understand, if we are gonna get new drivers licenses valid till July or October 2015?

Does this mean the DMV people gave you 2yera for your current drivers license? wow!! I guess I was lucky then, I got 5 years when I applied with my 2 years green card. I am glad i dont have to go back to that place any time soon to renew.

- 2003, met thru a music forum, NOT a dating site ;)
- Dec 9, 2010, met in person and engaged
- June 7, 2011, married
- Sept 28, 2011 1st Packet sent
- Sept 29, 2011, received NOA 1
- April 4, 2012, received NOA 2, move to NVC
- May 15, 2012, Case Number assigned!
- May 16, 2012, I 864 Bill paid
- May 19, 2012, Emailed DS 3032 to NVC
- May 24, 2012, Returned Completed DS 3032
- May 24, 2012, Received IV Bill
- May 24, 2012, Paid IV Bill
- May 31, 2012, AOS package SENT
- June 14, 2012, Package IV SENT
- June 26, 2012, CASE COMPLETED! 1 month, 1 week and 4 days since NVC received
- August 2, 2012, Interview, PASSED smile.png

- October 18, 2014: arrived in the US :)

July 23, 2014: Petition sent

August 1, 2014: I-797 Form (NOA) received

August 18, 2014: Biometrics done

I sent my application on 07/08/14, NOA1 date 07/15/14, but I have not received my biometrics appointment so far, I am freaking out. I did Infopass to ask but nothing from lazy ### official at level 1). What should I do?
