my check for 680$ appeared in my account. does that mean I'm approved? but i haven't received any letter of approval.

i remember reading, they won't refund your money if your application is denied

If you are talking about N-400 form (naturalization) they get the money and make sure the form is complete for acceptance before sending the letter... You will soon get a letter stating that your case was accepted and that your check was cashed...

It means they cashed your check. Full stop.

When they cash your check , they should mail you the noa letter.they cashed my check on Jun 26, the mail is out on the sesame day, I got it on jun 30

Don't confuse that with anything more than they've cashed the check/cheque. You'll be getting a Notice of action saying they've accepted your application. You've still got biometrics and the interview.

I mailed on June 20, delivered on 23, check cashed on 26, got noa letter on 30

Also remember, in most cases they process your check via an electronic ACH transaction. So you will see the transaction in your bank account the day after they process the ACH. They are not cashing the physical check which would normally take a couple of days to see in your account.
