How long after we "started the interview scheduling process" we get the interview notice?

I assume this means I just got inline!!

Congrats Houston 1. Looks like Dallas Field office is moving too. As per Trackitt, the latest Dallas interview email if for July1 Priority Date. I am inline interview for Dallas Field Office .. My priority date is July 3.

I am planning on asking for a name change. Any ideas how long it would take to schedule a Judicial Oath ceremony in Dallas ?

They now seem to be delaying sending out the inline notice until they are almost ready to schedule the interview.

Patience is our best friend here to be done in this process! Honestly I am happy I am inline after this long wait.

UPDATE: Today, the USCIS site shows that both my and my wife's interviews were scheduled on Jan 6. No email or text recieved yet. Anticipating interview in first week of Feb.

Priotity date: july 3

Field office: Dallas

FP/Biomteric: July 18

Hello all, updating my information. I am so glad and grateful that I am almost done with this process. If anyone here or from any other forum is interested in knowing what my interview experience was like in San Diego, please reply to this message or pm me and I will gladly share the details with you.

For those that are interested in my timeline, my interview was on 12/10/2014, I was notified that I was placed in line for my oath ceremony on 12/15/2014, I was then notified that I was scheduled for my oath ceremony on 12/23/2014, and I received my notification on 12/27/2014. My oath ceremony is scheduled for 01/21/2015.

Best of luck to those that are still waiting on their interviews, and congratulations to all the new American citizens from our forum!

Hello Moon Light:

Thank you so much for your warm felicitation. At this point, I can say that waiting on my interview to be scheduled was arguably the most nerve-racking part of the process as I have a strong dislike for the unknown, BUT the days do go by fast, and you will be done with your interview before you know it.

I want to apologize in advance if I am a bit hazy on some details, It has been about a month since, and I find that my memory is not quite what it used to be in my younger years

I filed for naturalization after being a permanent resident for at least 5 years. My interview was scheduled for 10.30 am. The letter cautioned against arriving earlier than 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment time due to space restrictions. I heeded that in my usual way, and arrived at the door about 10 minutes prior to my appointment time. BIG MISTAKE. There was a long line outside the building that was waiting to go through security which was moving rather slowly because they were allowing one person at a time though the doors, completing their scan, before allowing the next person entry. I realized this after I had been standing in line for a few minutes, and were it not for the kindness of the people at the front of the line, I would have been late for my appointment

I walked into the almost full waiting room at exactly 10.30 am, just as my immigration officer (IO) was calling my name (I was pleasantly surprised by how prompt they were) and so had to rush through the check in process, where they basically asked for my GC and interview notice for verification. I apologized profusely, and was afraid that my tardiness would affect my interview, but my IO was very very pleasant in light of the situation. There was some small talk as the IO took me to their office, which I suspect was used to gauge my understanding of the English language.

I was placed under oath before I sat down in the IO's office, and the interview begun. The IO explained that we would do the reading and writing portion of the test first, followed by the civil questions, and then we would go through my application to verify that the information on it was accurate. I read a short question sentence, and then wrote down the response. (I am not sure, but I think I read: Who is the father of our country? and was asked to write: George Washington is the father of our country). The civil questions were next:

• The House of Representatives has how many voting members?
• We elect a U.S Representative for how many years?
• In what month do we vote for President?
• When do we celebrate Independence Day?
• Who is the Chief Justice of the United States now?
• Name one war fought by the United States in the 1900s.

The IO read the questions out to me, and typed my answers on their computer. After six questions, I was informed that I had passed the civil portion. We then went through my every question on my application. I was asked how I became a permanent resident (through marriage), asked whether I am still married to the same person (I am) and a few questions about where I live, who I live with, how much rent is, utilities, where I work, how long I have worked there etc. The IO put notations on my application, and then check marked all the yes/no responses. I was asked if I had any other documents that I wished to submit in support of my application (I had none) and was then asked to sign the application and the back of the photographs I had submitted along with it. It was interesting to note how thick my file was, It looked like it contained every single sheet of paper I had ever submitted in support of my entire immigration process.

The IO then printed out a single sheet of paper, checked the box recommending approval, and congratulated me on passing the interview. I was informed that if final approval was granted, I would receive a notice in the mail with my oath ceremony details. I was then walked out to the exit door that led to the lobby of the building at around 11.00 am. I was surprised that such a short time had elapsed, it felt a lot longer because of how thoroughly the IO went over my application responses.

Hope this is helpful. If there is one thing I cannot stress enough:

TLDR: Please allow yourself ample time to go through security before your appointment.

Congratulations ! 2 weeks more you will be US Citizen, you get to the destination of the journey.

I belongs to Oct Forum and is still awaiting for Interview letter.
I am very interested in knowing your interview experience in San Diego. I really appreciate your sharing, did you file on 3 year or 5 year basis ?
