Hi Everyone,

Got my letter in the mail regarding that they have accepted my application on 07/19.

Got my letter in the mail on 07/26/14 that my biometrics were scheduled for 08/14/2014, but did an early walk-in at the San Francisco office with no problems, yesterday 07/30/14. So I am assuming that the interview will probably be sometime in September as I don't reach my official 3 years as a permanent resident until the end of August. Seems like it is moving relatively quickly. Could someone please update my timeline. Thx so much!

It must have arrived the day after you sent it, which would have been one day too early.

According to the early filing calculator, your eligibility date is 07/19/2014 because July and August both have 31 days. Either that or they messed up; applicants have reported that happening too, which is why it's better to wait a few days after your eligibility date before mailing the application.

It's a good thing they returned your application. There are a couple of stories on VisaJourney about applicants whose checks were cashed and who made it to the interview only to be denied for applying one or two days early.

Looks like it's only going to set you back a week... Good luck!

I and my son can file this month but I have a question which I am hoping someone will know the answer to.

We came into the USA on 29th Oct 2009. Our son is 17 at the moment and will be 18 on the 24th Sept. As I can apply now do I need to file for him individually or will he get his automatically when I become a citizen?

Hello and thanks for starting this thread.

I and my son can file this month but I have a question which I am hoping someone will know the answer to.

We came into the USA on 29th Oct 2009. Our son is 17 at the moment and will be 18 on the 24th Sept. As I can apply now do I need to file for him individually or will he get his automatically when I become a citizen?

I believe if you apply now, you would be filing for parents' citizenship only and list him as your child. He is under 18 so he would become citizen with parent(s).
