Hello,

I am staying in the USA and my gf is in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I left my job beginning of the year to vacation around US with her. The embassy says it requires in FL for you to have 3 statements showing income, I have none. My sister is willing to notarize a letter saying she will support me with three thousand dollars and show her bank statements, will this be sufficient? Also, I will be staying with my gf in Sao Paulo will a host letter from her be needed notorized with her birth certificate?

Any information will greatly be appreciated, thank you!

hi

it's confusing. who Is trying to get a tourist visa you or your GF?

if it's you, there isn't any sponsorship nor a letter from your sister is needed. You have to show strong ties to your country. that you have reasons to return to your country.

you don't have a job, nothing to tie you to your country

or if it's the other way around as the other's said, there is no sponsorship needed the person requesting a tourist visa has to do it on their own merits

Sorry, I thought it was apparent when I said I was staying in Brazil and kept saying "I". I am the one going to Brazil and getting a non-immigrant Visa, I am staying with her visiting. I have read everywhere not to lie and state other reasoning and to tell the truth, reason I don't have a job is because she came here and I quit to vacation with her.

But this board is about the US, visiting and immigrating to the US.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
