I heard that you can't stay longer than a year if your US citizen. True or False? Also, if you are a US citizen can you get a one way ticket? Please give an info about this. Thanks

Yes you can stay out of USA for a year or even more. And yes you can buy one way fight ticket.

Timeline

If you are a US citizen, you can leave and never come back. That's perfectly legal.

The only consequence I can think of is that, depending on his long you live in the US before you leave, any future children born abroad may or may not be a US citizens.

Also, you have to keep paying taxes.

If you are a USC and you are in the Philippines, as far as the US law is concern you can stay out of the US longer than a year or so that doesnt change your citizenship. But you must go out of the Philippines or at least exit to a nearby country so wont have to be fined for overstaying in the Phils. in as far as Phil law is concern.
