Hi Guys, I have a question regarding taxes. For the year 2013 i filed as single since my wife was not here. But she came here on May 27th 2014 and got her SSN & GC. So, now can i amend my taxes for the year 2013. I will really appreciate everyone & Thanks 2 we got married last year in May 2013.

Your correct filing status for 2013 was "married filing separately", not "single", since you were married on 31st December 2013.

That being said, it's unlikely anything bad is going to happen. You should file a 1040X with the IRS for the 2013 year and use the correct filing status this time.

You can amend your filed taxes, even if you already recieved your refund. You might have to pay a bit extra, or you might even get something back. But it would be a good idea to amend.
