Notify USCIS immediately. It will not cause any delays. There is a place on their website to notify them of a change of address. They will send you a notification to your new address. You definitely want to make sure that any communication from them will get to you. I moved, notified them - no delays. Not to worry.

Ok, I'd changed my address on 03/20/2014 using the online tool. I did get the confirmation the same day

as follows:
Address change request successfully submitted:

Updated Address To:
------
----(my new address)
Service Request: *******MSC
Expect a reply by: April 1, 2014
No reply was ever received. But when my I130 was approved on 04/04/2014 and they sent me a notice that my case has been approved and they sent me the notice at my previous address, the mail was returned to them as undeliverable. I received an email on 05/02/2014 stating mail was returned as undeliverable, please contact customer service. Then I called USCIS and the CS representative told me that my address was never changed. So she told me to call NVC as my case was already forwarded to them. I called NVC and they updated my address. So finally after about 2 months my address was actually updated.
Please just call USCIS and have them update the address even though the online tool is available.

This is really good info, thank you!

I just updated my address in the online system for my upcoming move. I'll call them in a week to make sure it went through.

And on top of this, we are both moving (again!) in September! I really hope we are done with the USCIS business by then, because I constantly live in fear of not receiving important stuff from them even as it is.
