Obama is worst president since WWII, nationwide poll finds

I wouldn't call it racist. I don't know if McCain could have done any better with the shape the country was left in. I believe that Obama has more slights because of his race. It would explain the 400% increase in assassinations. But to be fair, Bush had to endure 9/11. My only issue is that he was praised for it, and protected by most of the media. Yet Obama is being crucified for Benghazi.

1. blame it on Bush

2. It's racist

400% increase in assassinations ? Dear god my friend you need to eat something

 I thought we could debate the merits and existence of obscure presidents. Was there really a president Harding? Woof!

What was President Arthur's best achievement? How does he compare to Obama?

So my list...

Wilson

FDR

Clinton

Obama

??

Herbert Hoover

Bush Jr.

Jackson

Funniest presidents:

Taft

Arthur

Fillmore

Harding

JQ Adams

Calvin Coolidge

Interesting top pick. What achievements of Woodrow Wilson puts him number one on your list? And Obama is #4 all time?

I like your pick for number one.

My list would look like this.

Best.

Eisenhower

Clinton

Truman

Reagan

Johnson

Bush Sr.

Kennedy

Obama

Ford

Bush Jr.

Nixon

Carter

Worst.

we are actually not too far apart. Carter was stupid and arrogant. obama just stupid. I think Clinton gets high marks cause he walked fast, kept his head down and do not do anything rash. If he was not married to an abusive lesbian, which drove him into the arms of another woman he would have been higher

What about Warren G. Harding? Chester A. Arthur?

Obama is worst president since WWII, nationwide poll finds

If i was a liberal this is where i would do the reading comprehension thingy .

 I don't know.

In HS I remember that Wilson was my fave president, but I can't remember why. He was an intellectual peacenik and general smarty pants. Looking now he did some important domestic reforms.

And of all time? Idk. Probably not. But I don't know enough about the needs of America year by year and who was best or least able to help.

Since Mr Obama took office, the rate of threats against the president has increased 400 per cent from the 3,000 a year or so under President George W. Bush, according to Ronald Kessler, author of In the President's Secret Service.

Census shows 77% identify as white 63 if you take out those with Hispanic heritage . So 72 is low

Regardless the poll is not racist and has a good statistical sampling. Please find other excuses.

The folks at Quinnipiac are a respectable organization and they certainly know how to do a statistically valid poll.

Typical of people that don't like the results to bash the method/credentials/supposed bias/etc. of the people behind it.

Obama won the election because he wasn't Bush. After 9/11, Katrina and 7 years in Iraq and Afghanistan - the Republican Party had become so toxic that pretty much anyone the Democrats ran could have beaten the Republican candidate. It said a lot as to how much of a pariah the Republicans saw GWB as, that McCain didn't want him fundraising or campaigning on his behalf.

As to Obama, personally I'd have preferred it if he'd had more of a campaign platform than a vague mantra of change. That's clearly a fault in the electoral system that you can win the presidency with vague promises and clever marketing without committing to everything substantial.

Part of the problem, no doubt, was being saddled with an economic recession and armed forces entrenched in the middle east. Not being American, or having lived in the USA for 4 years I can't say what impact, if any, Obama's presidency has had on people's daily lives. If it's anything like the situation in the UK, then probably not much has changed, while the general cost of living seems to edge up each year, putting a pinch on household budgets.

The problem here is that some you people are so polarised you find it necessary to tear down the opposition party figurehead by any means necessary, crowing when the other side wins the election and ignoring it when it becomes clear that your guy is little more competent than the last one.

I have to say though, I do believe that GWB was probably the worst president in my living memory. Mainly because it was so obvious to me that the guy was simply a frontman for his father's business interests - all those speeches he froze up at, all those debates he had to be coached through because he clearly had no understanding of the issues. He just wasn't someone who was qualified for high office. Other politicians, good and bad (including Obama), at least showed a degree of statesmanship and that they understood the questions that were put to them. I found it interesting whenever the President made an national address, that people would stop what they were doing to listen. With Bush, there was a strong temptation to turn off the TV. Not because he was lying, but because he clearly had no understanding of the issues he was dealing with. His press conferences were, and still are, appalling.

Further proof that you don't read. Noone here has done any of this.

There was a question as to whether the poll was representative of the populace. Having done a fair few surveys myself, that's not an unreasonable question and anyone who does this kind of work will freely admit the limitations of their data collection (because there will always be limitations).
