Hey everybody !

This is the link of a petition on the White House Website to ask Obama Administration

to change the immigration law about MINOR SIBBLINGS of US Citizen (The F2A and F4 family categories) :

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/vote-immigration-reform-enable-minor-children-immigrate-their-parents/wp5tBFxJ

You all know the problem we face, when parents of US Citizen can get a visa, without waiting time, as immediate relatives ;

But they have to leave behind their MINOR children, for many years !

Last June,2013, They started to vote the reform ; But since then, nothing happened !!

PLEASE, SIGN THE PETITION AND SHARE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE !!!!

150 SIGNATURES NEEDED FIRST, TO POST THE PETITION ON THE WHITE HOUSE WEBSITE

AND 100 000 SIGNATURES NEEDED BY JULY 23, 2014 !!!

signed and also got it signed by 6 other people. there are only 35 signatures so far. it needs to be spread fast even to get 150 signs. the link has been posted on this forum quite late. all are requested to please sign it as it is a very serious issue. small children are separated from their parents. very unfortunate.

Sounds to me like parents should stop leaving their minor children if it's such a concern.

only a sadist can have such views. we should believe in family unity. I am a parent and feel the sensitivity of this issue. Parents always want to live near their children thats why they their is no limit on their visas.. What about the parents who have a 21 yr. old unmarried son in US and a 10 yr. old little girl with them in their home country. I know such family and can fee their pain.

The 21 yo child is adult and ready to live away from parent hopefully . The parents have responsibilities to the minor child. We don't need to create a special class of immigration line jumpers. The law allows for the family to be reunited just not on the immediate timeline the supposedly adult child want. Let the parents finish their job.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Presumably the 21 year old son in the US took a decision to move away. (So much for family unity)

If not the home was broken anyway.

I tend to agree with this.

Thank You Piya

This is EXACTLY how our situation is !

Our oldest daughter got married to an american 5 years ago ; they have a 2 year old girl ;

And we still have our 12 year old son living with us in Europe ;

But we would like to be all together ;

That's why our daughter wants to make us come ;

But the process, with the current law, would be complicated for our younger son ;

Maybe it is only fair that all children of an immigrants parents get to be immediate relatives. That way the whole family gets front of the line status, then the CR1 / K1 time line would become years but families would get to immigrate faster. Of course that means the spouses and children of the children get front of the line status also Who cares if newbies that want to get married would have to wait 4-5 years for their turn . I want all my family here and I want them here now :protest:

So let me get this straight.... Most of you are from Europe... Except the son in law (and very young daughter, easy to move).... But you'd rather petition to jump the queue than have the family all together in Europe. It's a bit difficult here for an objective observer to say "this family wants to be together as its main priority" rather than "this entire family is looking for a quick and easy way to get to the US as its main priority"....

Agree with everything you have said about this.
