i received following update this morning on my case status:

On July 2, 2014, we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Will it have any tracking number?

With my wife's 10 year card, we got a tracking number when then actually mailed the card.

I think as previously stated - Changing your address, filing the GC as lost/stolen and then having a new one sent to your new address sounds like the best course of action!

Trying to intercept the mailman to get the card may cause you problems if your wife happens to be home and sees you - especially if you're going to have to sit around outside the house and wait for the mailman. You don't want to give her any ammunition like that.

If you received the update of your case - would it be likely that your wife / her lawyer also received the same notice?

Sorry for what you're going through. I understand your hesitancy to want to be forced into a divorce you didn't want. As said also though - In California, she will be able to file for divorce with or without you, so eventually it will become the case if that is what she wants. I hope you manage to make it back home soon and get some well deserved family time!

With this status usually comes the tracking number. You might get tracking number today or tomorrow which you can track on usps website. Card comes with two days priority mail which you normally get by next day in most cases.

If card production is ordered and card is mailed then nobody can cancel the card.

Your story looks majorly messed up looking at it from all directions. From what you write here, your wife has been very manipulative. Yet regardless of her shady character, from the eyes of USCIS, this whole thing looks like fraud. Also the more YOU delay the divorce, the more ammunition your wife gets to tell USCIS that you're preventing the divorce for immigration benefits. I'm sorry that you're in a bad position in whatever way you look at it but the best thing you can do is divorce the wife and seek an immigration attorney for consultation on how to proceed with your future immigration steps. Right now your wife's threat on holding your GC is the least of the problems because 1) she can't just steal your GC and 2) even if she somehow hid it from you, you can always request for another one. However two years from now, you will be facing another immigration step called 'I-751 Removal of Conditions' and this marriage already looks so bad that USCIS may flatly deny you another GC for ten years and then you'll face deportation. You urgently need to consult a damn good immigration attorney to see if you have any chance to escape this blunder at all. It's probably going to be very expensive but it's better than trying to sort this huge mess on your own.

There is no fraud here. No matter what comes out there is nothing that can deny that marriage was not in good faith. My wife and my family are very well connected through other mutual familys here as well as in my home country. I can get atleast 50 people from my wife side of family on the record that marriage was real. That being said, I have not married for immigration purpose. I have studied in USA both undergrad and grad, worked under work visa and my employer is also filing green card for me under EB2. I have been faithful and law abiding person, never received a single ticket, paid my taxes on time. I have valid visa which will hold even if I lose the ROC. I have done all the chores to win my wife family side of trust, which required effort as well as money. I have taken online classes and exams for wife, give rides to family when needed, and mostly had been the GO TO person for every little things that goes inside the house. I kept my head down and suffered all sort of abuse down to the level that my meal portions where controled. I have recordings or her abuse, emails and chat histories. I have enough evidence to support my case. My only condition to my wife is that she stop cursing and using bad words, and I am still willing to work things out for her. I have chat history that can prove that she used the FK word 10000 times. I have worked very hard to establish a good life here in this country for long years away from home. Now that I wanted to leave the house and build that house of my own and start my family instead of staying with her family and become their slave. If wife stop cursing and willing to come out her parents house and start a new life with me, I have no problems. I guess councelling might help with saving the marriage. Rest assured I would respect her wishes if she wants to divorce me, provided that she doesn't take away my hard earned life away from me because of her greed and insecurity.

Wanted to give an update on my situation:

I called post office in the morning and request mail to be held at the office. I received an call when postoffice got hold on my mail. I got the green card in hand. Not sure I should go home without communicating with my wife. She seemed to have realized the mistake she did. I am glad no police or any confrontation of any kind was involved.

Every few days, someone comes on this site and asks how can I deport my fiancee/spouse, stepchild, etc.

Situations like this is why we don't let the USC have any say in "deporting" anybody.

We don't let the USC wield the green card as a weapon against the new immigrant.

We don't let the USC blackmail the immigrant and use the green card as a weapon.

@GAvictim: Nice!!! Glad to hear you got your green card! Phew! I am sure that is a relief. Now, I would encourage you to do what the French guy was posting up. You need to go back home and gather all your strong evidences (joint bank accounts/joint car insurance/joint health insurance/photos/joint electric/phone/TV/internet bills on same address etc.) so that when you file for ROC you will not get denied. Otherwise, two years from now all your hard work for years away from home will go down the drain! Good luck!

I am pretty sure he has no evidence. I don't know how he can remove conditions with basically nothing.

Its hard to say what he has as evidence right now. But affidavits of even a thousand people is not going to make up for the lack of other hard evidence.
