First step we did when we received the letter from NVC is to pay for AOS and the petitioner to submit her docs. A letter came telling her to fill-up another form for her joint sponsor and at the same time for ME asking me to submit the same (I864a).

I did not submit because I am the principal (w/ derivatives) and I am not working in the US I'm working in the Philippines. I did ask them through email though but they did not directly answer my questions. So I did not submit any and instead continued the next step which is the immigrant visa application.

In the website, on AOS status ... it says on AOS documents = N/A. Does it mean there are still missing papers that need to be submitted?

Anybody who have the same experience? Or anybody on F2B with derivative asked to submit principal's proof of income or assets or tax return?

Enlighten me please.

When you say you are the principal, you mean you are the beneficiary right? If so, you don't need to submit an I-864. It's the petitioner and co-sponsors (if needed) that needs to fill this up.

As for the CEAC website, that field that shows AOS/IV status was recently added and might not be fully functional yet. Your best bet is to call and ask the NVC if the AOS is all okay.

yes, i'm the applicant/beneficiary.

that's what i told my mom too, but she insisted NVC's letter asked me to submit too. I stuck with what I believe only after a few months I began to doubt it. So Im hoping anybody here may also have the same dilemma as mine.

Im thinking maybe they wanted to know my capacity because I have 2 derivatives to bring and probably my petitioner and her co-sponsor meets the requirement but only just a little above the limit. If that's the case, my ITR wouldnt help as much because my salary here in the philippines if compared to US wage rates is nothing. right?

That doesn't add up. Your salary in the Philippines isn't relevant since you are being petitioned and ultimately you have to give up the Philippine job when the visa is issued.

Do you have a copy of the letter? Maybe you can post the contents here?

If the sponsor's income isn't enough, then you need another co-sponsor. The beneficiary's income can't be used to augment that.

This is what the instruction said.

The letter was addressed to the petitioner/sponsor.

Another page bears the name of her Co-Sponsor and the instructions to submit this and that.

Now this page bears my name, the principal applicant asking me to submit the same form and financial evidence.

This is what confused me since I am aware this form is not supposed to be submitted by the applicant. UNLESS there is an exception or other case where this is applicable. That I do not know.

Beneficiaries/principal applicants do not submit AOS forms. Might be a misprint. Call NVC.

My husband was an F2B beneficiary too with 3 derivative children. He didn't submit his own ITR or AOS. It was his dad (petitioner) who submitted the AOS forms and docs together with his mom because they are married filing jointly on the tax returns.

Thanks. Keeping my fingers crossed I did right on ignoring the letter. :clock::)
