Hello everyone, i recently got my interview date (after 3 checklists!) and i was wondering what kind of questions should i expect disregarding the obvious "how did you guys meet" i know there is no way to know the exact questions that will be asked, it's just im a little nervous already, and i would feel a little more easy if i saw a few questions that might be in the ball park of what they might ask, pertaining to my case

Here is a little bit of info about me and my spouse (wife)

  • started talking to her on facebook in april 2012
  • became a couple in may 2012
  • we chated at least 3 times a day from this point foward (Dominican Republic internet is prepaid so we talked at certain times when funds were available)
  • i went to the Dominican Republic to visit my now wife in June 2012 took about 23 photos
  • Starting in late may (2012) we started talking about twice a day by telephone (and still do till this day at least once a day)
  • kept talking to her (on facebook) as soon as i got back from my june 2012 visit, till about september 2013
  • Talked to her for about 2 months off and on, on Whatsapp (again when funds were available)
  • Went on my second vist to D.R in December 2012 to get married (Yay!) stayed for about 2 months took approximately 150 pics
  • at this point (september 2013) we no longer talked on facebook, and also about 2 months later we no longer talked on whats app (she got bored of using them, wasted a whole lot of her balance lol), so we talked twice daily on the phone after i got back to the states
  • April of this same year (2013) i sent my i-130 out
  • Went again in July of 2013 to visit wife
  • Again daily phone conversations every single day

my last trip was this past april (2014) to visit one last time before interview

Other:

We have no kids

i am 23 years old my wife is 21

my mother is our affidavit

i sent TONS!! of proofs to NVC with IV packet, all pics of wedding, me and wife going out or just relaxing, pics with me and wifes family, wifes family and i hanging out with wife and i, money reciepts (i send my wife $100.00 bi-weekly still send them till this day), letter of bonifide marriage, from my mother, and brother, and one from her mother, and her friend, all passport stamped pages of my trips to D.R.

I plan on taking more pictures of my april (2014) trip to interview, and more money reciepts that i send her...

Well im sorry for all the reading, but that's basically me and wife in a nut shell... so what kind of questions do you guys think will be asked??

Thanks in advance and sorry again for this big post :/

Hey Bonao2013,

It’s completely normal to feel nervous about your interview, a majority of us have been there or will be soon. Just keep a positive attitude and everything will be ok :)

As for the interview questions, if you go onto any Dominican members timeline (located on their page) you'll be able to view everyone’s experience which will include all sorts of questions.

What my husband and I did was review these questions a couple days leading to the interview. Our relationship is legitimate, but we just wanted to be as prepared as possible.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I wish you all of the best :dancing:

Search visa journey for "interview questions" that what I did and found that one of the member had put together a number of questions. Good luck for the interview.

Thanks, its just that i feel the consulate will probably find our case kind of suspicious due to everything i posted above.

i have looked at alot of pages but only a few actually have reviews none of which are recent...

Sounds fine. You haven't had a quick relationship. You married on 2rd meeting and have visited since then.

Keep in mind that with the DR, you both need to attend the interview.

Oh yea, without a doubt i will be with my wife at interview, i already bought my flight just waiting on the day :)... i will be arriving about a day amd a half before interview =/, just because i want to be able to come back to the states with my wife..

So it dosnt seem to fast, or will make for a CO to get suspicious. (Marriage is 100% legitimate, we married for love not convenience)

nah man.

Took almost a year for you guys to get married after meeting and it's been over a year since then.

The suspicious ones are people who meet and get married the first trip and only spend a week together. (Unless by arranged marriage, in which case that is common, but consulates in those countries understand that as well.)

if you look here at the reviews listed as poor, you can get an idea of the questions they ask when they are digging to figure out if a relationship is fraudulent. http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?trim=no&cty=&cnty=Dominican Rep&page=1&dfilter=2&topic=

The link didn't copy correctly, but it's Consulate Reviews, Dominican Republic, poor ratings. They list questions they were asked. Some are very intimate questions. I also read a review one time of a couple that even had to go and open up their Facebook accounts. Look through all the reviews from the past year and a half or so to get a good idea of what to expect.

I just read reviews up to 4 years back, it seems that people who sent in proofs to NVC, or dont have a big age difrence have a less harder time than others, hope this is true... because i fit into those two categories

NLR - I didn't realize that I (The Petitioner) would be required to attend the interview in DR. With the way the timelines are moving I'm assuming that by the time we get an interview date both my doctor and the airlines would not allow me to travel (I'll be ready to pop). Do you know if the embassy has any consideration into this?

they likely would because of pregnancy or they might say you need to have another interview. Best place to discuss it would be your regional forum.
