I'm with you on that. It's not like Obama trained her for years, she got to where she is by her own virtue. The only thing BO did was hack off on a recommendation as he does on so many.

BTW Her mother is white , so once again why is she black again ? Why is she not called white or mixed race, much is the case with obama.

She had a good but otherwise unremarkable naval career, until they plucked her from some desk job in the Pentagon and gave her some admin role as Senior advisory for the Sec of the Navy aboard the US Boxer., which was the command ship for the task force in the area known as Pirate alley. This is not a command role.

Anyway the Somali pirates took Captain Phillips. The navy seals went in and got him back, she had some role although it is unclear, but was mostly an observer. The Captain Phillips story became the tale of Hollywood celbratiy stuff, and how much better if a Black female was the one that saved him. She then shot up the ranks like a rocket to 4 star.

Don't read anything about race into this. This is how things work in the military. I have seen it time and time again. Golden child officers who get plumb assignments are in the right place at the right time, and get catapulted up through the ranks. Truth is Admiral Howard i am sure is just as qualified as her Male counterparts , who very few of probably got 3 and 4 stars because they are the best and brightest.

Because in the United States, the president is also the CIC - Commander in Chief of the armed forces. Furthermore I do believe he did a great job in naming a woman for such a prestigious post. I am not sure why someone would disagree with that.

I think he did a great job recognizing a woman amongst the qualified personnel, whereas so far all other presidents before him appointed men exclusively.
