Rolf Harris, who has been convicted of being a serial sex attacker, faces the prospect of dying in prison.

The 84-year-old, who was one of the nations best loved entertainers, was found guilty of 12 indecent assaults against four women, the youngest of who was aged seven at the time of the attack.

It can be revealed that the Australian-born singer and artist, also assaulted a television celebrity as she interviewed him.

Anyone been following this? Harris was an icon of kids TV. Very disappointing that someone with the reputation he enjoyed was betraying people's Trust to abuse young children.

I'm stunned. I could believe the Jimmy Savile stuff (although the latest revelations about his necrophilia have been even more than I could have imagined), but Rolf Harris? Good god. Very sad.

It's quite sad. In the apology letter he wrote the girls mother it sounded like he really hated himself.

I believed that Savile was an oddball, although given the scale of the complaints against him you'd think more than a few people were covering up for him.

Was Harris a children's tv presenter? I thought he was an all round entertainer? Still, anyone who is caught out doing the things these nice specimens have been accused of deserve to rot in jail. Sad that is how some people are, and that some get away with it because they have money and an image.

He did a couple of kids shows in the 80s - cartoon time and Rolf's cartoon club.

I agree he has to face the consequences of his behaviour, even if it means dying in prison. But there's something sad about someone loved by millions dying in ignominy.

Yes, there is. I always liked the painting thing he did, it was clever. His singing I didn't like all that much, especially the two little boys one, that made me puke, aghhhhhhh, it's back in my head again!!!!

Savile was worse though. Reading some of the recent stories he sounded like a real beast. The latest is stealing glass eyes from corpses he abused in a hospital mortuary.

I haven't read any of it. He always seemed a bizarre and outlandish caricature of a human being on screen, clearly what you saw was only the outward face hiding a rotten core. One thing is clear, wearing foil track suits and sucking cigars is an outward sign of internal turmoil!
