My application is being processed extremely quickly; just received the case number today. I am just wondering, if we want to do advanced medical is that an option? If so, how is it done? Am I able to do it online, or do I need to call? If I wait for the schedule will they send me a letter to let me know?

Thanks!

I don't know the answer but we are sending my stepson to get all the vaccinations on the list. I think the other items can be done more quickly. For us, there was no certified MD where my stepson lives so the only items we could do in advance were the vaccinations.

wow good for you for if your case is being processed quickly. My husband did his medical before his case was complete at NVC. I was told as long as you have your case number and visa preference category (husband's case was IR-1 petition for U.S. spouse) you can go ahead and do medical. You can email St. Lukes and call them as well just to double check. Also I don't know if NVC is still backlogged but keep in mind medical is valid for six months.

Yes - she can do her medical exam ahead of time. It will save her time if you register her ahead of time at http://www.slec.ph/us/registration/. She needs to bring the following:

  1. Valid passport
  2. 1 photocopy of Passport Biographic/Data Page, the page in the passport that contains the applicant's photo and information. Photocopy on short bond paper. Passport photocopy should be the same size as the original, not enlarged or reduced.
  3. 3 pieces recent 2"x2" visa photos, complete name written at the back (2 for submission to the U.S. Embassy, 1 for clinic file)

The US Embassy requires you to bring the 2x2 photos for your visa issuance. We regret not to release the medical report until such time that you can provide this requirement.
  4. Visa Interview Appointment letter from the Embassy or Instruction letter from the National Visa Center (NVC), if available, ***I've in the Philippine forum that you could bring the e-mail/letter from NVC that contained the case #, IIN, BIN, Petitioner's info, and Immigrant info****
    • Principal Applicant - original & 1 photocopy.
    • Derivative - 1 photocopy
  5. 2 photocopies of your Appointment Letter/ Instruction Letter
  6. For applicants who registered online, 2 copies of the online registration confirmation form

I will have my parents do their medical exam early as well since they will be around the area. Keep in mind that medical exam is only valid for 6 months. If after 6 months, the visa isn't issued yet, she will have to do the exam all over again.

Good luck!
