Contact after biometrics?

**This post is not intended to sound impatient or panicky, I am just curious **

I had my biometircs appointment almost 3 weeks ago. Seemed to go fine. I left with the same letter I went in with but they stamped and signed it. I have heard nothing since. Assuming everything goes smoothly will I hear anything before I get my EAD/AP card such as a NOA2 (like during the visa stage of the process) confirming I have been accepted and it is being produced? Or will it just appear in my letter box one day?

If you created a new case status online with the case numbers for EAD and AP, then you will see an update when approved. If you signed up for emails or texts with your status account, you will be notified of card production etc. without checking online constantly.

OK, cheers. I have heard the USCIS Case Status service is a bit rubbish and rarely updates. Is this true? My GC app is on 'acceptance' and EAD and AP are both on 'initial review', which seems correct.

We didn't get a status update or change on the greencard. It was like you said "just appeared in the letter box one day". About 13 months later, an email came saying it was approved. I guess somebody was cleaning house and looking up old cases so did our update and email.

Yes, it is unreliable. All of my cases (AOS, EAD, AP) were in "Case Not Found" status until the day they got approved.

Agreed with everyone else. Very unreliable. But I did believe it when mine updated to Card Production one day straight from Acceptance. So don't worry if yours is still in Acceptance mode.

I applied in mid-jan for GC, still in acceptance. Aside from interview waiver in april, I've heard nothing since.

My EAD/AP changed after 60-odd days after applying, once they approved it.

It was very reliable for my I-129F. But not sure yet for my AoS. I still kept checking though, .

I totally feel your pain, I did mine 5 weeks ago and i485 is still in acceptance. I feel sick every time I have to check the status (which translate to getting sick 3,927 times a day )

Did my bio in Dec, still in acceptance for 485, EAD and AP issued in Jan, waiver letter in Feb nothing since then.

We did our bio in May...we have heard nothing on any of our documents. We are waiting patiently (well, almost patiently) to hear anything about EAD/AP and AOS. So far, we've received the same information you received--a stamp upon completing the biometrics.

Hi stevensane,

The tracker is unrealiable, it is a hit and miss mostly.

Usually the status will jump to card production for EAD.

Now for the green card, assuming you have no RFE or interview it will also jumpt to post decision activity or card production.

Hopefully your bio went smooth because sometimes they require applicants to redo because the fingerprinting were done inaccurately. One officer lady told me to KEEP MOISTURIZING my hands next time a bio is required.

So yes, keep your hand cream handy at all times to avoid bio redo.

My wife had her bio done on May 20th of this year. Her EAD/AP was approved just yesterday. :-) So that was 42 days.
