After the I-130 is approved... Help please!

Hi everyone!!!

My husband and I have talked about moving to usa to be with my family for a number of years (I am USC and he is Australian), and after a trip up north WA in April, we decide to take the plunge and get the process started!!

We sent the petition I-130 off at the end of May. We received the NOA1 around 3 weeks later, and when I checked online it said the petition has been approved! So now I guess we are waiting on NOA2, which will be here any day (or week). I am trying to look on the net for some of my questions, but I must not be using the correct keywords as I can't find all my answers. Can you please help with some of these if possible:

1 -Will the interview be in Perth or in Sydney? We live in Western Australia. I have found two people online who said they flew to Sydney for the interviews but I couldn't find anywhere on the consulate website about this.

2 - once the NOA2 comes back, how long do we have to act and what are the next steps? Just organise the paperwork, medical, and interview? We don't want to leave Australia until January.

3 - what are they looking for in the medical? My husband has bad hearing (he's only 26 years old). Would this be a problem?

4 - just wondering how some of you went about on the AoS If you lived in Australia for awhile? We are hoping to use our main residence here as our asset on the form, as we plan on selling it towards the end of the year. Has anyone done something similar as the sponsor, and was it successful?

5 - any tips on moving stuff overseas? Do you have any international movers you would recommend? We only want to send over a car, some tool boxes (hubby is a mechanic and has a large amount of tools which we don't want to replace), and perhaps a crate of personal belongings. Furniture and everything else will be sold (or given away). I am likely using jet pets for the dog, and a company in Melbourne for the car, but still open to suggestions!

6 - how did you handle health insurance when moving to the usa? Are there companies that help expats for awhile in this area or do you use a travel insurance for a short period of time? Would I organise this easily as the USC?

7 - if we continue to act straight away (such as organising the rest of the process as soon as possible), will we have a few months before hubby has to go to usa? I'd rather not go alone, but we don't want to go until January. We are happy to go the first week if all our eggs are in order, but don't want to delay anything and have it backfire. I think I have read he has 6 months to get into the USA once the visa is issued. Is this correct?

I have a million more questions, but any advice anyone has is welcome!

A bit more info about us - we have been together for around 8 years, and married 2.5 years. Hubby has been to usa 3 times so far. I have lived in Australia since I was 17, and we are heading to Georgia!

Thanks!!

hi!

After the I-130 is approved it will be sent to the NVC. Here is a great walk through of what will happen/what you will need to do at that stage

Hopefully this helps answer some of your questions!

Awesome thanks, that helps heaps with the steps listed, how I will show that I intend to re-establish domicile, as well as explains some of my tax stuff which is being sorted with the accountant. I've favorited it :-)
