hello, i was wondering if you had some brief explanations of peoples timelines. When i look i see the top line for the I-129F and NAO1/NAO2 and people have dates and check marks on them.

but then i see stuff like "Packet 3 and Packet 4" can you explain what these are for.

I'm just waiting to hear back on what to do next, they have received our I-129F but have heard nothing since. and i see people haven't even had NAO2's and they applied in Jan. when customs says 5 moths wait.

You think it would be easier with me being in the military and her coming from canada.

  • Packet 3 is the list that US embassy sent to the beneficiary. Usually it contains information which documents beneficiary should provide prior interview
  • Packet 4 is the interview date
  • It is not guarantee being a military make your I-129F easier to get approved.

It is consulate specific. Some consulates have packets 3 and 4, and some do not. In general, packet 3 seems to be a checklist and instructions for the interview, though some consulates actually include some forms in their packets. Some have you mail/e-mail forms to the consulate prior to interview date, and some have you bring everything with you to the interview. Your best best is to look up the information for your consulate on the consulate's website. I do not know which you will go through, either Vancouver or Montreal. It appears that both have you email the checklist to them and then there will be a packet 4 sent to you, which will be the medical and interview scheduling instructions.
