NVC letter received!

hello, i just wanna ask (1) if we could pay visa now and proceed to medical now that we have our NVC letter dated june 19. i have'nt received our embassy letter yet and im afraid that they would take a month before they send us. should i call the embassy first before paying the visa? (2) and can i do medical while looking for an interview date, because i've been reading posts that getting an embassy interview date is very hard. will that cause me any problem?

Yes you can do the medical while waiting for an interview date, just remember the visa validity will be tied to the date of the medical - so the 6 month clock starts THEN.
