Quick question before wife's medical. I have noticed a requirement for females (11-26 years) to be vaccinated for Human Papillonomavirus. Somehow I missed this earlier and thought she was only to need her second MMR and DTP/DTaP/DT. Can someone tell me if that HP vaccine is really a must for the CR-1 visa? Wife will actually be getting her DTP/DTaP/DT tomorrow and her medical is on Thursday.

When I first went through the process I had to have the HPV vaccine. I didn't see it listed this time around but I may have missed something.

This link lists vaccinations: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/iv018a_medical.pdf%C2'>

The HPV virus is the most easily transmissible and most common STD. You could have it and be asymptomatic. According to an article in CBS news "At least 50 percent of sexually active Americans will have genital HPV in their lives, according to government estimates.". Since it causes cervical cancer and other cancers it would be prudent to get the shot.

I went through the medical in London in January, and this shot was not a requirement for my entry to the US. Nor for AOS. However, I suppose I am just over that age range. But I wasn't even asked about this in any way. Hope that helps to some degree!

Also, any vaccinations she needs but doesn't have, they can do there (and did for me.) It was quick and cost wise similar to what you would pay on NHS (I don't think the HPV jab is free on NHS)

HPV was dropped in 2009 among other things. Influenza was added for all ages over 6 months in November 2010. This clinic's website has a very well organized and accurate listing of the requirements. It's easier to follow than the CDC chart. Have a look http://www.panelphysicians.com/Pages/Immunizations.htm

The London website's list has been out of date since the 2009 revision by the CDC. The Knightsbridge website is correct.
