Hopefully I will get mine soon too. I filed a week after you and mine should be in Detroit MI too. Is that where your biometrics was? Mine was there on the same day as yours.

Yup we had our Biometrics in Detroit, MI. I hope you will get yours soon too.. Who knows we will have same Interview Date too.

True!!

As soon as you notice your status jumped to"Testing and interview" - start expecting an email notification saying you have been put on the line for interview schedule. Soon after that you will receive a hard copy by mail with the date of your interview. Hooray!:)

That means you are just in line to be scheduled. You will get a new status update when you actually are scheduled and it will tell you the specific day. The thirty-day period it mentions refers to the potential waiting period after they mail you the interview notice, but they haven't scheduled you yet. In my case, my wife and I waited about eight months after entering that stage before we were actually scheduled. Hopefully your wait is shorter.

I have read this in USCIS when your status goes Testing and Interview..

"If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours."

So i guess there's a lot of cases ahead of me in my place that's why i'm still in line for an interview schedule and a friend of mine from another state who has "almost" the same timeline as mine got her interview schedule last sept 11 (her interview will be on oct17)...

Absolutely. Check your local field office's processing times to get an idea of when they might get to your priority date.

Find your local field office at the bottom here: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do

Keep in mind the data is from two calendar months ago. You can calculate the number of days between the data reporting (which is actually older than the date the update the webpage with that data, if that makes sense), and the current date, and then add that number to the current date they are working on to estimate how far along they are.

In my experience, USCIS won't consider you outside of normal processing timeframe unless your priority date is past the "Currently working on" date displayed.

It's all relative. Some places are still on late 2013.
