Hi everyone!! Congrats to all of you who have received their EAD or done their interview! I just got the news that my EAD is on it way :D I should get it tomorrow! I am really excited about it!

However my AP is still on "post decision" and my AOS on "Acceptance".

The good news is that now I can take my permit and look for jobs! It's so nice to see that we're all getting there!

At the interview, our officer said she would approve us but before that she needs to have my complete Alien File from Nebraska Service Center. OMG how long does that take......*(#%($%$^&)@!

Now that my EAD is on the way I wonder if I can start an LLC.

Yes you can. I started a LLC even before as a student. You can always start a company here, but have to wait until you receive your EAD or GC until you can work for it. Now that you have your EAD, you can start it, and work for it.

After days they approved my I131, I finally called them yesterday asking why in the *** my I765 was still under initial review. The customer service lady sent in a request yesterday afternoon. And today my I765 moved to card production.

So, I guess I was just the unlucky one whose files got forgotten by them. And when I called, they finally realized that they left my files in an untouched corner.

Just to anyone who hasn't gotten info regarding their i765, the current "raise a flag" day is 75 days after your receive date, not like 3 months. Call them and maybe you are lucky as me that they found your case and all the sudden approved it.

while my husband's EAD was issued and has been mailed this past week, the I 485 FINALLY today moved into "initial review," but still no interview date. Apparently they said we are a bit "delayed" because we submitted an address change at the beginning of the case, and basically the service request held up the processing. I'm not sure *that's* true, but we would really like to get this all over with ASAP! We didn't fill out an AP, and my husband wants to visit his mom in the UK by winter holiday....

Hello everyone!

I ended up getting my EAD card a day early :) I have a question, I filed the papers with my maiden name because my lawyers told me that I needed to put down what was on my passport and I hadn't had time to change it before having to send the AOS/EAD/AP. However on my marriage license I stated I wanted to take my husband's name. However I have seen some people on the forum who filed with their husband's name. Did they change it on their passport first? Sometimes I have doubts about whether or not my lawyers have all the info. :-/

Hi andruida! Congratulations on your EAD :)

About last name - uhm.. Before I filed I looked through a lot of topics concerning this and forums and all people said that when you fill in the applications for AOS , you have to put that last name which you would want on your green card - either yours or your husbands. I put my husband's last name. Let's see what other people will say, but I think you can as well raise this subject during the interview and ask the officer what kind of last name you going to have printed on your card.??

Your lawyer was very wrong about this. You had to file your petition with the name you want to use from now on, which means your husbands name because that's the name your ead and green card will have. You should have done without lawyers! Not worth it!

Clearly! This is not the first time that they had the wrong info. They were useful for the petition part, but after that I feel like I am the one telling them what to do. Now I find myself with my maiden name on my EAD and if I want to change my greencard once I have it, I have to pay a fee to change it. :-/

I feel like my only hope is to see at the interview if they can change it then.

Thank you for your replies!
