You are right on the money! :D

Checked the USCIS website this morning and it updated to mailed out. I just don't get any of the alerts (text or emails). Phew!

Good job! My next guess (and this is double or quits) is the USCIS case status page will be updated to show your USPS tracking number at around 20:30hrs tonight. You can then click on the tracking number and it'll take you to the USPS tracking website. You can sign up for text alerts on that page that show the item being tracked through the postal system, if you want to.

It will be there soon. It doesn't take a lot of time to get to you. You haven't been moved to 'interview scheduling" yet?

No, my AOS is still on "acceptance". But if I get the EAD soon, at least I can start working :) Does anybody know if it's okay at this point to start applying for jobs?

Hi guys,

I am fairly new to posting here on VJ but I have been reading for a while and you have all been so very helpful for me throughout this whole process. I filed my AOS (485, 130, 131, 765) on July 11, received the NOA1 on July 15th, did my biometrics as scheduled on August 6th (after being denied an early walk-in attempt at the Naperville, IL office), and have been waiting for changes to my status since. I am especially eager for the 765 EAD to be approved and I have no idea why it's taking so long. According to my timeline, is my EAD on time and the wait time normal for the processing time, or should I be worried that something is wrong? I am so eager to start working and have an offer lined up as well, pending my EAD approval. Should I look into applying for an expedited EAD, and how do you go about doing that?

Thanks guys!!

I really would try to call the local congressman. It speeded the process up tremendously for me. Especially since you have a job lined up, it's usually a pretty straight forward case then.

Yes you can apply for jobs. It's not allowed in the US to ask for your legal status during the interview anyways. Once you get a job offer, they will give you the I-9 form and then you have to show that you're legally allowed to work. So I would say from starting to search for a job, and actually getting this form, it will at least take 3 weeks.

Timeline

Hello July Filers,

I am trying to calculate when to expect EAD approval. Our timeline is all over the place, so I thought maybe someone had some thoughts.

7/17 mailed AOS/EAD/AP

7/22 NOA for EAD & AOS no AP NOA, stated AOS would be transferred to NSC. Now USCIS shows received date at NSC of 8/4.

rejected AP because fee was not included?? Resubmitted with AOS NOA and received an NOA for AP of 8/19 on USCIS status page

8/29 biometrics complete

So when comparing to others timelines should I use the AP NOA date since the EAD/AP card is issued together or can I assume the EAD NOA date which puts us expecting it any day? We have not received any notices of interview scheduling. Any thoughts are appreciated.

CR-2 bringing stepson

8/31 I-130 approved NOA2

9/23 Rec'd by NVC

10/1 Case # and IIN from NVC by phone

10/1 DS-261 complete

10/2 AOS bill paid (status in progress)

10/6 AOS shows paid

10/7 AOS & IV packet mailed

10/8 NVC welcome letter

10/9 Packets received at NVC (tracking)

10/9 Reviewed DS-261 on phone

10/13 Rec'vd IV bill email

10/13 Paid IV bill (status in progress)

10/14 Rec'd email scan date 10/9

10/19 IV Fee shows paid

10/19 DS-260 completed

11/18 Rec'd CC email

I started looking as soon as I did my early walk-in biometrics. I have had an accepted job offer for 3 weeks now and they're flexible on my starting date, so it wasn't a big deal. I've been in my line of work for 10 years, so the company that hired me didn't mind waiting. I was very upfront about it and didn't think I would not get approved. In any case, delays were the only thing that concerned me but my employer said they would wait. Now I'm just waiting for the hard copy so I can actually start and stop pushing the start date back.

Hi guys,

Our timelines are similar and so is Derwood. Derwood received their EAD and AP a week before me, so I would think you would get notice pretty soon.

I did contact my congressman and file an expedite based on job offer, but it didn't seem to quicken the process.

Hello long time no see.

AOS I-485 stays on Acceptance till Green Card Production. There is no problem with this; this is normal. And congrats on your husband getting his EAD approved that was fast!! My husband just had his Biometrics on September 8th and the woman who did his fingerprints said he should have his EAD in three weeks even though our attorney says 90 days; I hope the woman is right!

They will ask. Even on the online application before any interviews. My past 3 years of looking for jobs, changing jobs tells me that they really care about it and they definitely ask you your work authorization status, cos it is an legal issue not a personal one. The question normally is like: are you authorized to work in the US with any employer.

They don't care if you temporarily cannot work. As long as you will soon and do not require their sponsorship, they will be fine with it. :)
