My interview is tomorrow. I have every document I need as listed here http://london.usembassy.gov/application_documents.html and as advised to me by various people including Nich-Nick in the forums. But I just printed out my DS160 confirmation page and noticed it said I should bring my I-129F confirmation at all stages in the process. The letter itself is in America with my fiance as that is where we were when we filed the petition and it was confirmed and approved. Will it matter that I don't have this confirmation letter with me tomorrow at interview? (I DO have the confirmation of approved petition letter from the US Embassy in London). Thank you!

I didn't bring my NOA1 or NOA2 - I had my interview over a week ago. Other than the relevant supporting documents listed in the London K1 guide (sticky in this forum) and the page you've linked to, I brought:

  1. a printout of my DS-160 confirmation page
  2. my Packet 4 letter (appointment)
  3. a printout to confirm payment of the MRV (machine-readable visa) - I didn't bring a courier delivery payment receipt because I elected to pick up my visa from one of their depots
  4. my Packet 3 letter (in case there was a query about a notarised letter of intent - my interview was after the priority date+4 months and previous Packet 3 letters requested a notarised letter of intent, but mine didn't)

They never asked for item 4, just items 1, 2 and 3. You have to show them 1 and 2 with your passport in the queue outside the embassy as well as at reception (where they give you your ticket number). Then you have to show them 1, 2 and 3 when you are called to the document checking window before your interview.

Thank you landr.

I have (among other documents)

  1. a printout of my DS-160 confirmation page
  2. my appointment letter

I do not have

  1. a printout to confirm payment of the MRV (machine-readable visa) because I had problems with the website. I phoned the visa call centre twice to get help. They said just to go to the interview. And Nich-Nick on the forums said I can pay at the embassy on the day. Strangely though, the website DID let me pay the courier fee, so I have a receipt for that.

My interview is also after my priority date and I have a notarised letter of intent from my fiance dated June 2nd 2014.

I think you should be okay then. I remember reading a recent review from someone who didn't pay before the interview and wasn't even asked to pay on the day. Then when he tried to get back in to pay, the guard told him that they were phasing it out and it's a bit of a grey area! I wouldn't rely on one person's experience though and I'd be prepared to pay on the day if it comes up in conversation.

Good luck with your interview!

Will repeat how I answered a PM, just for others who may read this thread--

I have never heard of anybody needing that petition approval notice at a London interview and I have read every thread posted in the UK FORUM for the last 6 years. The DS-160 is a newer form (for a year or so) so I have never seen a confirmation page with my own eyes to read all the fine print. Based on hundreds of other people, I would think there is no reason it would be required. London knows you were approved. It's in the file they got.

A photocopy of it will be sent with your adjustment of status.

Question: Has anybody else read their DS-160 confirmation and saw the same wording? Landr--did yours say that?

Question: Has anybody else read their DS-160 confirmation and saw the same wording? Landr--did yours say that?

Yes, it did. At the bottom of the first page (above the bar code):

YOU MUST BRING the confirmation page and the following document(s) with you at all steps during the application process:

Passport; Evidence of approved I-129F

You must also provide any additional documents you feel will support your case.

However, I figured that since the first sentence in my Packet 3 letter says (my bold and underline):

U.S. Embassy London is pleased to inform you that we have received an approved petition in support of your fiance(e) or K3/4 visa application.

and I'd received a Packet 4 letter, that would be sufficient evidence that my petition had been approved and I didn't need to provide further evidence at the document check window or at the interview. As you stated, London knows that we were approved and it's in their files.
