I don't think I am arguing, just trying to understand.

I can't find anywhere that says you must have a joint sponsor if you currently meet the the poverty guidelines. It doesn't ask about future/continuing employment or income. My concern about this clarification is real, as I do not have a joint sponsor and I will resign from my job when we move to the States. This is the first I have heard that I need a joint sponsor.

Can anyone with experience in this please answer?

• Employment temporarily stationed abroad with the U.S. government
• Employment temporarily stationed abroad with a U.S. institution of research recognized by the Attorney General
• Employment temporarily stationed abroad with a U.S. firm or corporation or its subsidiary engaged in whole or in part in the development of foreign trade and commerce with the United States
• Employment temporarily stationed abroad with a public international organization in which the United States participates by treaty or statute
• Employment temporarily stationed abroad with a religious denomination/group having a genuine organization within the United States.
• Employment temporarily stationed abroad as a missionary by a religious denomination/group or by an interdenominational mission organization within the United States

You will also need to supply proof that you are reestablishing your domicile in the USA.

Only employment from the above sources or employment that will continue once you enter the USA, counts towards your current income for the sake of this form.

Hey guys... NVC received my AOS package on 5th June and I'm still waiting... they are taking longer than 30 days. I have sent my IV package and NVC received on July 3rd. What's expected for the case to be completed? ..

So I phoned the NVC tonight, after many many busy signals I got through! I am currently on hold and it's been 38+ minutes.

In 5 days the length of this thread doubled

My husband landed in Boston last Wednesday evening, zipped through the airport thanks to preclearance at Dublin, and we had 5 days to settle in and enjoy our time together. Today I'm back at the office and it's time to figure out what everyday life is going to look like. VJ at work is a given I hope there's been a lot of good news around here lately!

What a relief! Just called NVC and my case is complete! I made it through without checklist.

I was so worried about getting checklist with the much slower NVC. I saw two nightmares in the past week about checklists.

Yesterday was sucky day, my 2nd request of expedite got denied and I thought there was genuine reasons but today is better

No checklist CONGRATULATIONS what great news, now you can rest a bit before the next set of nerves kick in.

I meet the 3 sponsorship requirements: over 18, US citizen, US domicile (re-establishing). I also meet the income requirements with my current income.

I still do not see anything about continuing employment in the USA being a requirement for sponsorship. The employment types listed in the link above are showing what can be counted as US domicile. I am using other proof for re-establishing domicile which I have not been checklisted for, so assuming are accepted. I was only checklisted on AOS for and incorrect dollar amount I entered by mistake.

Has anyone else out there reading been through this?

You expedite for the same reasons as the USCIS. There is an explanation in the wiki.

I just looked for it on the Wiki and didn't find it, I have read reasons to expedite but I have seen cases expedited for depression which we all are for the most part.

I apologize in advance if this question is answered somewhere else. I assure you all I have read the Wiki at least 45 times (a day ) and I have looked at the spreadsheet tracking processing times. There is something I just don't understand. It says in the Wiki Page that you can send the AOS packet and the IV packet at the same time. Indeed, according to the spreadsheet many people did just that.

However, you have to pay the fee that corresponds to each packet before sending that packet, correct? From what I can tell, currently the AOS bill is being issued long before the iV bill. That would mean either delaying the AOS package or sending the IV package before it is billed. Am I missing something, or has the process just changed a bit?

Thank you for your response. Is there anywhere it says this in writing about employment not continuing, this is what is baffling me. I have asked my sister if she will be a joint sponsor in case they ask, so I will have the form on hand! She has agreed. I hope if they want it, they will accept it at interview and not make me wait another 30 days at NVC!

I have used the following ot re-establish domicile: letter from parents saying we will live with them until we find employment/buy a house, emails from real estate agents looking for homes, emails from job search websites I am signed up with, letter from the school I have enrolled my child into, voter registration card with address I will be living at, quotes from moving companies, emails from banks regarding setting up bank accounts

We plan to use our savings and money gained from liquidating our assets support ourselves, and I didn't want to have to get my family legally involved. But, they are good people and will do anything to get us home!
