What a relief! Just called NVC and my case is complete! I made it through without checklist.

I was so worried about getting checklist with the much slower NVC. I saw two nightmares in the past week about checklists.

Yesterday was sucky day, my 2nd request of expedite got denied and I thought there was genuine reasons but today is better

Our lawyer just submitted our AOS and IV docs and is finishing the completion of the DS260 today!

Does anyone have rough insight on processing times? I am seeing 4 to 6 weeks? Is that about right? Then about another 4 to 6 weeks after that for the scheduled interview (Bogota)?

I have tried to read and deduct as much as feasible, but it is so hard to gauge, We are getting excited!

Yeah, I'm a little nervous for my trip to Florida in September where I'll be too busy to get on VJ for a week. I can't imagine how many pages I'll return to!

My husband just got done with his medical, he's on the Tube heading home! Mr Chatterbox simply stated it went fine and all is ok lol

We just called NVC and we're told they have sent out a checklist.

She said we have to send in the originals for the birth and marriage certificates. I thought you could do certified copies, which is what I did, as stated on the NVC website. Maybe certified copies are different in Australia vs USA? Has anyone sent originals in and gotten them back at the interview? I'm nervous about sending in original copies.

Another worry is she said I need to send proof of domicile, which I did (about 1/2" thick of paper!!). She's going to check to make sure they didn't miss it. I'm planning to call in the morning to see if they found it. We spent all this money to expedite it to them and then they lose things, frustrating.

Does this mean we have another 30 business days to wait for case complete?

I do the same thing lol. I filled out my DS261 TODAY and I didn't get an email from NVC

I was talking about the DS-260, not the DS-261. DS-260 sampler is a 70+ page form that you really need to study in detail.

Glad you have a lawyer to bypass the DS-261. That should save you 30-45 days, believe it or not. Just double, triple, and quadruple check everything your lawyer sends to NVC, before it's sent. Every mistake or omission will cost you another 30-45 days, and that includes being one cent off in your AOS figures.

Thank you so much for the clarification!! I really appreciate all your help and insight.. Where can I get the DS-260 to look at? And yes, I will make sure to check all docs 10x before lawyer sends them to NVC and hope all goes well. (We are human).

I read about this before and hope they will come along soon to let you know what to do. I think if you insist they will give a letter stating they do not give police records I know this has happened at least once before. Hope they come by soon.

Mobar gave great suggestions but if all fails I will have my husband ask the embassy one more time and if still can't provide to him, lawyer said we'll just notify NVC that he couldn't obtain these bchks...but that makes me a little nervous because I don't want us to get checklisted (We already know we gotta wait several months for an interview for Egypt ) Also wish you a quick CC soon.

Nope, if he doesn't hear from them by Thursday night, everything is fine. my husband was not looking forward to the blood draw, but he's a-ok! He just got home, gotta love the Tube at rush hour!
