I am still waiting for the IV invoice, ds261 done May 29th, I called last week, the lady told me it does not matter when you submitted your ds261 what matter is when we received it (whattt??), is that some thing new to get by time, she told me they got my ds261 on June 16 and that is what is count (she was so rude),,,,I am so over this process

Complain about her might have been Joyless AKA Joy, e-mail to complain is on my signiture.

Does the NVC call you? I was told today that they would call me concerning my I130...but they have my i129f in their system. Please help!

DAMN! that means they are still working on may 27!!

EDIT: Do you know when your AOS docs were scanned?

My AOS packet was scanned on May 30th and IV packet was scanned on June 30th

If they are not asking for anything specific, it is likely a false checklist. You can call NVC to confirm. It is annoying, but also shows that they have reviewed and accepted your AOS docs and now are just waiting to review your IV docs.

I hope you're correct I'm calling them now.

Are tax info, 1040 and tax transcript all the same? Because that's what they told my husband when he's requesting for the tax transcript in IRS office.

Ugh, bad news continues. Apparently the flight my husband's work booked wasn't refundable. So, I still have to pay off the flight and I'll get a credit to my Delta account, minus a $200 cancellation fee >_<

Just got off the phone with "Arthur" at NVC. Can´t really say anything bad about him. He was so very nice, seriously! And that on a monday . Well, they finally received our case and now waiting for case# and IIN# to be assigned.

It's because people are complaining as they should so now he's being nice but he'll slip up and when he does the e-mail to complain in here on my posts.

Recieved an email stating "Coverletter checklist" and the attachment doesn't indicate any documents that's being asked...is it normal? false checklist? It's close to 30 "business days" since I sent out AOS Packet...if it is false checklist...why in the world workers at NVC wasting time to send out email...that'll scare the ####### out of people like us!!

This is what they did to us. The NVC waited until the 30th day and then gave us a false checklist for our AOS. The day after we received the false checklist came a real checklist. Unbelievable.

I hope yours is only a false checklist. Good luck.

Saylin, I copied your cover letter exactly but added this to explain my approximated annual salary:

Please note that because I am paid hourly and do not have a set annual salary, my annual salary on the I-864EZ was calculated by multiplying my hourly wage x the number of hours I work per week x 52 weeks per year.

Does that seem ok? Or does anyone have advise on a better way to word this? Or should I say anything at all?

I am also struggling with this, trying to avoid a checklist; it seems they can be real sticklers and it has me paranoid. In order to file 186EZ, your income must be backed up by a W2 (or a tax transcript as we clarified) However, it is my understanding that they use your current income to determine eligibility. My current income is higher than the amount reflected on my 2013 W2, because I got a raise, although my income for both years is high enough to qualify me as a sole sponsor. Obviously I don't yet have a W2 to prove my current income, as the 2014 tax year has not yet ended. I am including 6 months of pay stubs and an employment letter, BUT I have no W2 to substantiate my current income, technically, and I believe your current income is what they compare to the poverty line. Does that mean I should file the regular I-864, just to be safe?

You're misunderstanding this as well. The third criteria isn't requiring W2s, it's just saying the amount you're using to qualify has to come from a W2 (aka salary/wages), and not from any other source, such as a 1099 or something.

No, they're not the same. The 1040 is a tax form that is filed to the IRS. The tax transcript is a summary from the IRS after they've reviewed and fixed any errors on the 1040.
