Saylin, I am writing my cover letters for my AOS and IV packages and I'm basically copying the samples linked in your NVC wiki. My question is what does the ATTN: CMR mean? What is CMR?

Thanks!

Hello Everyone,

So my lawyer was able to pay the fees for both AOS and IV, and i believe it is under process now.

After weighing in on EP versus snail mail method, we have decided to go for EP processing. it maybe longer but since i only have one original birth certificate for the both of us, I am not taking a risk right now with loosing them. I can wait a little longer. Fingers crossed!!

I did read your wiki post saylin. the AOS package is all scanned in and ready to go. I am preparing the IV package as I know that I am getting the Police clearance certificate sometime in the next 3-4 days.

I had 2 questions 1) now we don't have to send an email to say we want to enroll in the EP process. Right? Once the payment portal shows up PAID my lawyer can go ahead and submit the AOS and IV package by emailing them as described in the saylin's awesome wiki post. 2) Once the IV fees shows up PAID I can directly fill out the DS 260 form. I read as such on Saylin's post, but NVC can be very tricky and change rules before you know it. Just confirming!

thanks everyone and my fingers are crossed.

Hi :)

As of right now, according to NVC's website, yes, an enroll email isn't required. So, once the bills show as PAID, you can send the respective packages. And I think there's currently a delay between the DS-260 being available after the IV shows as PAID, but hopefully not that long.

Saylin, I am writing my cover letters for my AOS and IV packages and I'm basically copying the samples linked in your NVC wiki. My question is what does the ATTN: CMR mean? What is CMR?

Thanks!

IIRC, it stands for Collection Mail Room. But, don't quote me on that, as I'm not 100% sure :P

Coming up to my thirty business days this Friday for my IV invoice. I hope that's right, I'm running on three hours' sleep here :P if I don't hear anything then... well, I'll probably email them to avoid hearing "wait thirty business days" despite the fact I already did.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

I am a petitioner. My I-130 was approved on May 29th and shippied to NVC on June 4th. NVC processed to assign me case number, IIN and BIN on June 24th and I got all case number and id numbers. I read the NVC process guideline that was posted on this site. It mentioned that it should take a week to display DS261 and AOS fees after case number, IIN and BIN were assigned.

When I entered my case number and IIN on the CEAC website today, it said, "Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error.".

Questions:

1) Does the message mean they haven't inputed it yet on the system to generate fees?

2) When will I see DS-261, AOS fees and IV fees? I called NVC last week and he said that it will take 20 days-30 days. from date that NVC received my petition? or from date that NVC assigned me my case number? Does it mean I expect to see DS-261 and AOS fee/IV fees between July 22 and Augst 4th?

2) Shouldn't I see DS-261 first? I have an attorney that handles my case for my spouse. I understand that my attorney would be automatically selected as agent for my case, thus by-passing the DS-261.

All these dates are all over the place, they don't make sense. Why would your lawyer send them separately almost a month apart when they can send together? Double check with your lawyer.

Saylin, I copied your cover letter exactly but added this to explain my approximated annual salary:

Please note that because I am paid hourly and do not have a set annual salary, my annual salary on the I-864EZ was calculated by multiplying my hourly wage x the number of hours I work per week x 52 weeks per year.

Does that seem ok? Or does anyone have advise on a better way to word this? Or should I say anything at all?
Thanks!

They are quoting 30 business days from the date they accept your DS-261. Mine has said "Pay Now" for over 3 weeks. It will probably do so until I get my IV invoice email.
