Weekend alone + constant frustration = video

So, ever since I created the form to be added/updated on my spreadsheet (link to that in my signature below), I have been getting errors from people left and right and it's starting to get real annoying :P I thought it was an easy enough form to fill out, but apparently people don't read what I think are clear instructions (and this may sound a little harsh, but I can see why some of these people are getting checklists at NVC). Anyways, so I had some spare time, so I made a video on how to properly fill out my form.

I suggest everyone who will be requesting an add/update in the future to view it here. Make sure to put the video quality as the highest and expand the window, so everything can be clearly seen.

If anything, you can hear the voice behind these posts :jest:

You are so sweet, people are screwing up but at the end you say thank you. No, thank you! You have a lovely voice. My favorite part of the video: "Um, please don't include a link to my timeline. Obviously this is silly and...not right."

P.S. Guys, I dreamt about NVC last night. In the dream, I wandered into the study of the house I grew up in, which my parents actually sold years ago. Some guy in a white button down shirt was sitting at the computer with his back to me. Somehow I knew he worked for NVC, and that he was working right then and there, so I started to badger him and demand answers. He just kept saying, "You have to wait 30 business days." For some reason, in the dream, the fact that he was in our house meant that I could yell at him without fearing repercussions. So I told him to STFU and tell me the truth. Then this other guy walked out and started saying the same thing to me. I told them that I had a whole forum of people comparing notes, that we weren't going to stop until we got what we wanted. I think I was yelling at that point. Anyway, right when I started yelling at the second guy, I woke up suddenly. I think somehow I went straight from REM sleep to being awake, because I was so groggy I could barely move, even though I got plenty of sleep. Very bizarre.

Anyone else had any USCIS/NVC dreams? Maybe crazy dreams are what's scrambling all of our brains and making people put Armenia as their consulate, etc...

You should have heard my first take. I was much sassier about things, including links to my timeline  Like, come on folks, why would using a link to my timeline make any sense

And  that dream! I can't recall as it's been more than 3 years now, but I'm sure I had dreams about USCIS/NVC as well (although definitely not as funny as yours :P ). I do know I have nightmares every time I have an upcoming trip to Canada. I always dream something goes wrong and I'm stuck in Canada, despite having a green card, or that I get deported from the US. Thankfully, none of those nightmares have come true the few times I've gone to Canada and back *knocks on wood*

It looks like my AoS packet is going to arrive at NVC today since the tracking number shows it already arrived at JFK airport on July 5th. The fee completely cleared my bank but it still shows as In Process on the NVC payment portal. Should I be worried that they will set my packet aside until it shows as paid and might lose my files?

I understand what you are saying but to me this is called discrimination. Any one from any country can have something to do with terrorism if they wanted to so if AP was for everyone I would call it FAIR but when it only applies to certain countries,I dont call that being fair its totally discrimination.

If they had proof and was for a good reason I would understand but it's not and they don't have to give a reason or are they held accountable for their actions which makes this totally unfair to anyone that has to go through this. To say it's to avoid letting terrorists enter is just naive this goes beyond that because they know well with the tools they have who is who.

You should be fine, try not to worry. Even if your packet arrives today, they probably won't scan it in for about 2-4 business days anyway. If your payment has cleared your account it should hopefully show as paid soon.

I haven't personally experienced this though, as I waited until mine said "Paid" before I posted my packet......

i have asked a question bt no one is really answering i dnt know y??

my case is about to complete. and basically i m from afghanistan now i m living in pakistan.. so i expect CC n few days inshallah and i have given adresses in pakistan so now i would like to move to Afghanistanmy question is, would it be better to take my interview in ISB or in Kabul Afghanistan? i dont think so that they would put me in AP becz there is not any doubt n my case its all geniune.. and my wife is my cozn.. some friends say that every male should face AP, so i m scared is AP longer n Pakistan or in Afghanistan?

I'm not an expert, your question is a difficult one to me. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong but if you travel at this point it will delay you by at least 30 days if not more. Unless your not in a rush I would not do it. Hope someone can answer you better than I have. Afghanistan seems like a dangerous place to want to transfer to might even be more of a chance to be put in AP. But then I don't know.

DHL hasn't been delivering packages or other times between two US locations since November 2008. Only US to abroad and abroad to US.

This is from DHL site,

Where we can deliver

DHL works with more companies, in more countries, than any other logistics specialist.

Our long-established capability in large markets such as Europe, the US and China is matched by a long term commitment to every territory in which we operate. So, wherever your goods need to be, you can be sure we already have the expertise and capability in place.
They do deliver inside the USA :)

I think your poor brain is asking you for a vacation from all of this. I'm stressed out from this and haven't had a dream about NVC or USCIS so please take some time to relax.;)

Im preparing my AOS and IV package for IR-2

.... AM I missing something???????

AOS

-Cover letter (waiting for bar coded sheet)

-Form I-864W (I'm biological mother and naturalized American Citizen, Do have the right form?) If the child will become a US citizen upon POE, then yes, that's the right form (read the form's instructions for more info)

-Original/ Copy of Employment letter Copy not needed, just original

-Copy of certificate of naturalization (dont have my passport yet) Not needed

-Copy ot Tax transcript 2013, 2012, 2011 (tax filed jointly.. Am I gonna have problem with that???) Not a problem

-Copy of W-2's 2013, 2012, 2011

-most recent 6 months paystub

IV

-cover letter (waiting for bar coded sheet)

-DS230 part 1 and 2 Please read the wiki, this is an outdated form and will not be accepted

-2pcs. 2x2 pic

-certified/copy of birth certificate

-beneficiary copy of passport Bio- data

-Copy of Baptismal Certificate Not needed

-Certificate of Naturalization Again, not needed

-Certified/Copy of marriage certificate of petitioner

-School Records (letter from her first school only) Not needed

-Employment letter This is for the AOS package, not the IV package

-Letter of consent to travel of Illegitimate Minor Child (Notarized and signed by her biological father) Make sure you have a copy on hand for POE as well

-Proof of financial support to benefeciary (receipt of monthly remittances) Not needed

-most recent 6 months paystub This is for the AOS package, not the IV package

-pictures me and my daughter

Just wanna make sure Im not gonna get RFE

Notes above in blue and bold.

Question: how old is the child? If they're over 16, they'll need a police certificate as well.

Have you read the NVC wiki I wrote? I'm a little wary since you mentioned including the DS-230 which has not been used for almost a year now.

Quite the dream. LAWL!!

The US government does not run themselves like a "for profit" business however. That's what you're asking for.

US people don't like taxes. People don't want to pay more for their petitions, applications, fees. More for the money. It's quite typically American (I am convinced of such by the size of the food that arrives at a restaurant! LOL) So that means = less people doing more work. USCIS is completely funded by petitions and fees, which is why they promote and are quick with the I-129F. More money for them! That's also why they try to get the K3's passed through, but the NVC doesn't like that obviously. Creates more work for them and I don't believe the DOS is self-funded.

Also if you'd looked up recently how much extra government employees are paid on weekends, before 6am and after 6pm, you'd understand WHY they don't work weekends. I've posted it in other threads. NVC isn't about to work weekends, and their employees may or may not work after 6pm, I don't know. The call centers will, but they're a contracted business and not government employees.

While this sucks for everyone going through immigration right now, really the most you can do is bite down hard and bear it. NVC is far more transparent and at least you get to do something like pay fees, send documents etc... You're not sitting on your thumb and rotating; waiting for something to move behind an opaque wall.

I am not asking, you are misinterpreting my answer that suggested a more efficient system.

We all know that every time we call, sometimes after more than 100 intents we get answered and then hear:

"we know your time is valuable... etc" then after 45 or more minutes of waiting an operator answers your call and tell you the "wait 30 business days" BS.

That answer imho is to put the dust under the rug, not a solution.

Some other times you get answered by rude people as I already read in some posts. Do you think that is right for somebody that is paying all the required fees? I would pay more to get better service and I am sure many people will agree.

Yes, the system is broken and now overloaded.

Hi all,

I sure hope to hear good news soon as I know the rest of you do as well. My civil docs arrived at the NVC on May 28th and my AOS docs arrived on June 2nd. That's all I know. If I don't hear of any updates in a week I'll give them a call. I thought about calling before, but I just figured it will happen when it happens. I'll watch for good news from others who's docs arrived when mine did.
